original Interior, very beautiful.
The food is 10/5 stars!
The owner is also a waiter, and he will give you the best stories about the city and hes restaurant.

If you come here, ask what the name of restaurant means :D

We had the best experience here. Ask for recommendations … wine, food, aperitif it’s all amazing, you won’t regret it. I’ll come back to Lisbon just to come here again, and again …

I would give this 8 stars if possible. The ambience is exceptional—small, intimate and yet comfortable. The owner was so helpful and knowledgeable. The food and drinks were exceptional. It is a special find. You won’t be disappointed!

Really loved this place. Visited twice with different people and everyone loved it. Authentic food, top quality wine reasonably priced, comfortable ambiance, friendly unpretentious service and complementary post meal drinks. Truly memorable.
None of this would be possible without Alex, one of the coolest people we met while in Lisbon.
Even had an electric guitar ready to go so we could jam to his tasteful selection of blues music.

Perfect ambiance to lose yourself in great food and conversation. The food was like a simply yet beautifully cooked meal at a friend's house. My partner and I stumbled upon this place our last night in Lisbon and it was a brilliant find to complete our holiday. You also get a complimentary drink on your way out!

Great place and amazing vibe. We were with a little child and the owner has kindly warned us that they will have some loud music soon and it won't be suitable for a child (thumbs up to that as what can be worse than settling for a nice meal and having to abandon it due to an unhappy child). We were very starving at this stage so decided to stay for a quick meal and it was definitely worth it. The food was great and the atmosphere was relaxing and very pleasant. The only regret is that we had no one to look after our little one, so we could spend a few more hours there with a few more wines.

This place was really nice to have dinner. You don't need reservation, it was empty when we came but the food was really good. The waiter was very friendly and offered us two glasses of the traditional cherry alcohol.

Amazing food, just amazing and really really reasonable, in a lovely setting. Also Alex, the host, was just the best! So much fun chatting and we took away loads of local tips.

Estrela Da Se is a family-run restaurant within steps of the Lisbon Cathedral. The restaurant takes you back in time serving traditional Portuguese food in cozy individual wood-paneled rooms. My husband, son and I became instant with Alex, who is an engaging, multi-lingual host and an accomplished blues musician. We ate at Estrela Da Se three times during our recent visit to Lisbon. We particularly enjoyed the sausage with chips, pork with clams, and tuna with onion sauce.

A unique place in a few steps to the Lisbon Cathedrale. I loved definitely the homely and intimate atmosphere, thanks to the woody décoration and tasted music.
It's one of the last places in town where you can go for lunch or dinner in a seperated space that were once common

In my humble oppinion a very pleasent surprise. Not just a beautiful and cozy place, but also great food. Never expected a lemonade to be a literal jug of what seems to be freshly squeezed lemons with ice, but yet, unbeknownst to me, it was exactly what I was looking for.
Came hungry and with a gloomy mood, went out with a smile on my face.

One of the cosiest places we've been to in Lisbon! Great atmosphere, lovely owners, nice food, all in a very unique setting. Alex, with an impeccable taste in music and nice sense of humour, made us feel very welcome and at home. We had a great evening!

Spent our first evening in Lisbon, Portugal at this beautiful restaurant. A hidden gem of the City where you are welcomed from the moment you step in.

I went on June 5 and loved it! I had the pasteis de bacalhau, rice, a salad, white wine and a chocolate mousse and everything was fresh and delicious. The service was also great, the server/owner/worker was friendly and very welcoming. I would definitely go back

Great location ( if you sit near the door, you can see the trams passing through) and nice food. The owner was very friendly. I can’t read any Portuguese and the owner recommended tasty dishes that I loved so much. Highly recommended!!

Really good Portuguese food in a comfortable atmosphere, surrounded by various storys about the restaurant. Perfect for people who like details. One (food) detail right now: If you choose to eat the tuna steak, don't forget to ask for a portion of bread after you finished...the white wine sauce is heavenly delicious to soak the bread in😋👌

I’ve been meaning to post this review for a bit, but my thoughts on Estrela de Se go well beyond simple, initial observations on food, beverages, ambiance, etc. All of which are off the charts here, more to come on those notes.

There are a great number of killer restaurants in Lisbon that check off all the above boxes, but what puts Estrela de Se into another category of greatness are the owners – Alex and Lola. He mans the front of the house, and candidly who gets in, while supplying a steady stream of remarkable blues music, and she deftly orchestrates the kitchen.

My fiancée and I stepped into the restaurant on our first evening in Lisbon wanting to get a bite after a long flight and were greeted with a glass of wine (despite being in a trucker hat, Vans and a puffer jacket [smile]) by Alex. We sat down on the only two barstools (now with our names on them) and a lifelong friendship began. Not just with Alex and Lola, but with a small circle of close friends that they invited us to join.

I appreciate most readers want to know they’ll get a good meal and fine drink – you will, in spades! Have the tuna and fries, for sure. And the burger. Drink anything Alex pours – red or white (maybe some Macieira) and make sure to save room for Lola’s chocolate desert!

But don’t just go for a meal, seep into the ambiance and history of the restaurant, look at the pictures on the wall, listen to the music, explore the separate dining spaces where many secrets, lies and other stories have been shared for the past 50 years.

This is not just a place to break bread, it’s a place to take a breadth, put down your phone, make new friends and find a little something new and interesting in yourself. Cheers, Mate!
