Such a warm, welcoming and lovely place! We were received at the entrance with such kindness, with open arms. The gentleman who served us is the owner, and his wife is the chef. Although they are alone, without help, they are so benevolent and eager for guests. excellent food, large portions and more than reasonable prices. I love fish, I ate a grilled sea bream and my husband ate pork chops. Congratulations from the heart, you are doing a wonderful job! 💯👍👏💝🥂

Want to try something really different, then visit this extramly authentic local restaurant. Owned, to my own beliefs, by an older couple, this place delivers delicious food. Portions are huge, and you will l, for sure, be full. The waiter, an old man, does not speak English but has pictures of the menu, and there is manu on English language. If you are lavish, then do not go here, but if you are keen to try and eat somewhere other than the main tourist restaurants, then this is the place. Definitely recommend this. Prices are reasonable, and chocolate mouse is definitely worth trying, a real homemade dessert. Interior and decor are simple.

Amazing good. Great quality and very reasonable price. The owner is the waiter as mentioned and he tried his best to communicate with pictures. Just a heads up the sangarita is a jug, not a glass.

Great little restaurant. Big portions, great food, cheap price. The homemade peri peri sauce is delicious. The owner doesn't speak much English but is all part of the experience. It gets busy so go early.

This unique little restaurant is tucked away in the alley ways! It’s a cute must find& the waiter is the owner,the chef is his wife.. and they do it all by themselves! They work so hard and he melted my heart!.. the food is great for that local restaurant of Lisbon..

Such a good local Portuguese food place. Really small and compact with a lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious (huge portions) and came quickly. The cod fish cakes were amazing, crispy on the outside and creamy in the middle.
There are also pictures of the guy running it all over the walls of the restaurant drawn by customers.

Nothing fancy but great experience having dinner at this local restaurant.
we had sea bass and squid with potato(steam potato or fried chips) ,green wine(500ml jar for sharing), meals were simple and yummy.
Bread and olive is extra charge 1.5€.
Recommend for people who want to taste local dishes.
Owner only speak Portuguese, however he has photos on his phone which can show you the choice.
Great to find the restaurant on Google review, and it's not far from Rossio Square which is city center.

The best food I had during my trip to Lisbon was in this hidden gem of a restaurant where quality and value both stand highly.

The owner was pleasant and attentive and the establishment is slightly eccentric in a good way. Many interesting drawings on the wall are of the owner who is a one man army in running the restaurant.

Food was very tasty, and the portions huge. Wine was delicious and plentiful. Great locals spot to visit if you are hungry and want a big feed, top recommendation!

Such a fantastic find! The owner, Avelino (an absolute legend!) does all the on floor duties himself. welcoming & attentive. Although we didn't speak Portuguese the whole experience was flawless. Delicious food. We went twice & the veal steak & cod was the best I've ever tasted. Has a cosy local atmosphere with excellent prices & big portions. We'll definitely be back next time in Lisbon!

One of the Best dining experience in Lisbon! There were already nearly full when we entered for dinner and we were told to wait for a while to have meals. While we were waiting, we ordered and enjoyed white wine very much… and our fish plates came after around 1 h, which were fantastic, as well as dessert!

It seems only a Portuguese couple runs everything which is why you may wait a bit long, so I recommend you to expect some waiting time. The waiter, senhor Averino is actually so lovely that loads of customers left his portraits on the wall, actually fully covered in the restaurant walls… which definitely tells something :) I would love to come back again.

Was thrilled to eat here! The ‘golden fish’ was very fresh and grilled just right. House wine was good and generous. Price was great too! All their dishes seemed very reasonable priced not more than €9! Good portions and tasty. Will be back to try the squids we saw someone eating and looked very good.

We ate there at our last dinner in Lisboa, oh how we miss that we discovered this place so late! Delicious and authentic food - grilled seabass and dourada, both amazing. One of the best that we ate in our life 😋 Big portions, reasonable prices. Delicious desserts as well! Highly recommend. Place is run by older married couple, they don't speak English, but still the man (who is the waiter and is running through the whole place constantly) understands the needs of people :) Exceptional atmosphere, busy place so in the evening arrive before 6pm when the place reopens if you want to have a place to eat and not wait in a queue.

Hidden gem! Sweetheart host running the show himself, managing a whole restaurant and different languages even when he could not converse. Appreciation of him is plastered all over the walls with customer drawings of this icon 😎
Food was tasty, cheap and huge portions. Wine crafe amazing deal too. We had a really pleasant time and if ever back in Lisbon we will certainly visit again.
Only possible negative is that it took a while for the service but considering the host is serving the whole restaurant himself - cannot complain!

Affordable local Portuguese dishes, restaurant is run by a family. Sea food, meat and homemade wine were delicious. Avelino is a very caring host with a great sense of humour. Loads of fan art on the walls of the restaurant!

Tasty food, amazing atmosphere. The owner tries to accommodate as much as he can. He had to turn lots of people down because it was so full. Make sure you're hungry because the plates are MASSIVE.
