Was only going to have a beer while waiting for the train but the delicious aroma said “order some food”! The pulled pork sandwich with ham was terrific! Try the pumpkin/raspberry hot sauce.

Great place to eat next to the train station. Small establishment, friendly staff and tasty pulled pork sandwich, beer, and almond tart.

Growing up in Oklahoma and living in Texas and North Carolina for several years makes me somewhat of an expert on BBQ by default. If you ever find yourself in Faro, Portugal and would like a nice pulled pork sandwich at a non-tourist price, look no further than just outside the local train station for Ponto Smokehouse!! It has the smokiness I like from Texas, with the sandwich being tipped with coleslaw that I love from North Carolina. The owner makes his own in-house hot sause that he is about to market online he calls S.O.S.S. Be sure and give it a try and grab a bottle to take home. He's put some in bottles small enough to carry on a plane (67ml or 2.25oz).

Really nice owner. They are very friendly. The food is yummy and cheap. We had soup, 2 sandwiches, a beer, and an almond tart for just over 12 euros. I'd eat it every week if I could. I loved the almond tart!

My wife and I moved here from Austin, Texas about 3 years ago.

We’ve had Texas barbecue more than a few times and, while we’ve had good Portuguese barbecue on a few occasions, Ponto offers real deal smoked pork that would be proudly served in any American BBQ joint. Served on a great roll and topped with perfect Cole slaw this place is a must if you like pulled pork. If you like a little kick, the homemade hot sauce adds just the right amount of heat and tang!

Very small and unassuming place but people are great and food is incredible!

We had a pulled pork sandwich which was delicious - a few drops of their special recipe hot sauce made it absolutely amazing. The lovely young lady who served us was a star. This place is a hidden gem. Top value and experience

A great lunch spot. We both appreciated, that the sandwiches weren't too big - a good lunch portion when you know there'll be a big dinner later. Lovely pulled pork - just the basic sandwich hit the sweet spot nicely. The people running the smokehouse were very nice.

Nice little place, friendly people, two soups, two really nice pulled pork sandwiches, an almond tart, two large draught beers, and decaffeinated latte €22.85. Happy days

Just amazing. One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had in a very low key location. Very thankful I came across this restaurant randomly. You can’t go wrong with the original on the menu.

We were on the lookout for a quick bite for lunch and Ponto didn’t disappoint. After a long morning walk in Ria Formosa and the Faro beach we stopped here for lunch time. We took the original pulled pork sandwich. And ended up with a coffee and their famous almond cake.

For the almond cake picture a caramelised top with a slightly moist cake at the bottom. Mmm !

It did not disappoint ! Good sandwich, nice pulled pork. And they do speak English ! They will welcome you nicely and you won’t feel unwelcome.

Highly recommend for an affordable and delicious lunch.

Jesus - that was delicious! Absolutely fair prices and fast, fresh preparation. For the short snack in between absolutely fantastic.

Stopped by on our flight out of Faro airport. Staff was friendly and there was good parking from the train station.our sandwiches where made fresh and they where so good. The coleslaw was so fresh and delicious and just the right amount of meat.

So, pulled pork shoulder done so well you don't need to soak it in sauce like we do back home. Straight up deliciousness of meat, added slaw, all served up in a toasted roll.

We asked for a dash of hot sauce and were kindly served a choice of pineapple based sweet hot, and a rich smokey bbq-esque hot sauce. Dabble a bit on each half.. simple.

Super Bock is locally available everywhere. Here, it is as cheap as should be and served cold in a chilled glass.

Light lunch for two, or snack before a heavier evening meal for less than a tenner sterling. Amazing. Friendly, English speaking and a couple of tables indoors incase it's shady/windy. Loved it.

Fabulous bar, close to station, great place for food and drink before getting Uber to airport for €7. Highly recommend

Simple, tasty good food at a very reasonable price! The Especial tops my recommendations with suitable lashings of there hot sauce....washed down with a beer. Yummy yummy, porky in my tummy.

Beautiful sandwich (I had the one with coleslaw and sausage), went down very well with a Superbock after a long train journey. No complaints whatsoever.
