Centauro Car Rental Faro

Have used Centauro several times there is a reason why I return to this company. Great prices and they don’t rip you off with the full cover insurance. The guys in the Faro office are very nice and action everything in a timely manor. We booked a category A car but received a Citroen C4 which I am sure is a Category C car so that was super nice. Thank you!

We visited Portugal and I booked with Centauro. A minibus picked us up from the airport and took us to the office where staff were very friendly. I got upgraded to a car which had all the mod cons and it was a delight to drive everywhere. It was actually good value. It cost us roughly £20 per day including fuel and insurance! Thoroughly recommend them.

Very good rental company and very nice and friendly staff, assisting with courtesy in English, Spanish, Portuguese, etc. and they offered me a superior vehicle to the one I had rented, I suppose because I am a customer who rents with them again. They have modern, clean vehicles from the current year with low kilometers and in perfect working order.

We had great experience with Centauro. Our flight was delayed but there was no problem. We waited for shuttle bus for 20 minutes, meeting point was easy to find. As it was my first time renting a car, I wasn’t quite sure how it works, so I was quite stressed, but office worker Claudia was very nice and kindly explained everything. I rented car for 4 days. As I made my reservation via booking, I already had premium insurance payed and it was much cheaper than in the office, but I had to pay 1200€ deposit what I was aware of. The deposit was only payment reservation which was cancelled in the moment I returned the vehicle, so I had my money instantly back. I also needed to pay extra for young driver, as I am 24 (until 24 young driver). Then I needed to pay deposit 100€ for roads and 94,5€ for fuel in case I wouldn’t refill the car. This deposit should be replayed to me in 2-4 days (as they said). Prices can differ I guess it depends on how many days you’re renting. Hope it helps someone, but we had excellent experience with Centauro.

I can not recommend these highly enough from picking us up to getting the key was hassle free the staff were great, they lost the key but it was found. They didn't try to sell me any extras I had no massive deposit I took out the full cover insurance and trust me it's fully covered... I had to pay €160 for a fuel deposit (standard practice anywhere In the world) and tolls their are a lot of toll roads in Portugal so I was happy this was one thing I didn't have to worry about... love this hire company highly recommended

Hired a car during our holiday and found the service was really good. No forced insurance sale or threatening.. they just gave options, but they didn't force to take their insurance coverage, unlike other companies who emotionally target to sell their insurance... all went well throughout the car rental.. I definitely recommend to those who want to hire from Centauro..

We had a great experience with these guys. David and his colleagues were professional and available. Shuttle to airport was fast and prompt. Cars are very well kept and very new.
Strongly recommend this car rental. We had some previous bad experience with others who were pushy and highly unprofessional. Centauro in Faro is the place to go.

Centauro was either the only or one of the very few car rentals that accept debit cards. We hired a car from Centauro Lisbon and returned it to Centauro Faro. Both offices were great and the stuff very helpful. We gave a big deposit up front, but we received the whole amount back after we returned the car. The car itself was just fine and we had no problems at all. It is worth noting that the person that runs the suttle bus waited for us to finish delivering the car back and took us to the airport.

Great service, car had some cosmetic damage but was all accounted for on documentation. Car was relatively and drove well. Staff were courteous and professional. Shuttle service was quick.

This was way better than my previous experience with a different company. The whole thing was efficient, from the courtesy pick-up, to the lady in the office, who was efficient and personable, the rental location and the car itself, which was a pleasure to drive.

So heres what your need to know before booking: Firstly 1: book direct not through an agent 2: upgrade to the full insurance 3: get the tolls tag.
I was really scared to book from any of the agents/car hire companies as they all have such bad reviews. but here are the tricks to not get tricked!!
Reason to book direct: You won't get the hard sell to sell extra insurance and will tell you that the 3rd party insurance is not valid (the couple next to me at pick up were being told this) their website is easy and clear.
Reason for full insurance: No deposit, which takes 10 days to be refunded. They won't screw you over for 'fake' damage (which i read a lot on reviews).
Tolls tag: You have to leave a €100 deposit for this but they refund you what you don't use, its accurate and not guesstimated so you won't be paying over the odds for tolls. note that the refund for the remaining amount is done after 10 days of returning the car.
NOTE: They require a €80 deposit for petrol, if you return it full then they refund you on the return.
The shuttle bus is big and easy i was lucky there was one just about to leave when i arrive, but allow some time as you might have to wait a little.
For check in there was no queue but this was because my flight was cancelled and came at a time that there were no flights.
I had a brand new Fiat 500 i think this was due to the fact i mentioned "i have seen your google reviews" haha it was easy to drive and clean. cost me €153,74 for the 3 days i was there.
From my €185 deposit i was refunded 177,80 which means the tolls to and from Lagos from Faro are €7,20.

Easy Check-in and out. Really good prices in comparison to other companies. Book directly via their website for good deals and direct insurance. Smart cover really keeps you worry free.

The shuttle schedule is every 10-15 mins from P4 at the airport parking.

Really friendly and helpfull staff, our flight was delayed but they waited for us, nice clean car, everything explained by proper english speaking staff, deposits refunded in a timely manner, shuttle to and from the airport every 10-15 minutes, shower/bathroom available on site.
All in all a nice experience, will definitely use again.

when we booked it wasn't made clear that there was a shuttle service from the airport every 15 min to take to the office, but on the return it all worked great. clean car and polite staff
will use again for next trip

Had a Peugeot 208 at a fair price. Staff was friendly and efficient. The whole thing was easy and hassle free.

Easy and fast pick up service with a yellow Centauro transit from P4 in Faro Airport.

The car we had booked was in fact the same model as their website showed (which is not always the case with car rentals). We got a new Fiat 500 (with only 5.600 km on its Tacho) - in perfect shape and super clean.

The check in and check out have been easy, fast, professional and informative by kind staff. We recommend this rental and would come again :)
There's enough gas stations around the rental so you can easily fill up fuel before returning the car. Also the rental station is close to Faro and other cities and easily reachable.

For anyone: take the highway tool for an additional 11€ - it's totally worth it if you travel via highway a lot to pay the fees in a comfortable manner.

Nice staff, there was no car of the chosen category available, so they provided a higher category with no extra charge. The car was new, clean, in great condition, there was no problem with anything.

Centauro is quickly becoming my favorite European rental car company! After renting in Valencia, I decided to rent in Faro, and it was the best decision again! Cars are new and in perfect conditions, the check in and check out has always been super quick and easy, the staff very warm and welcoming, what a treat and I could not recommend more!

Just finished a weeks rental from the Faro office. Car is collected off airport and a courtesy minibus shuttles you to and fro. We waited max 10 minutes for the bus which wasn’t an issue. Very friendly staff, customer service was excellent, everything was explained in a straight forward manner and we were off before we knew it.

Office is easy to find. Return was equally as good and efficient. Would recommend and use again….
