Full of life by way of decibels and dead fish. This is an extensive, bustling market for such a small town, which is a short walk from the ferry stop to reach other islands.

The architecture was slightly underwhelming, but the characters inside made up for it.

1st time here, just love it, walking around see people... Fresh fish, veg and fruit everything so good quality.. Everybody friendly... Be back

Brilliant selection of fresh, local and quality produce. Ranging from fruit, vegetables, herbs, spices, cakes and then separate fish market. Amazing to just wander through.

Such an historic building and yet completely immaculate. I have never visited such a well cared for and clean market - inside and out!

On Saturday is even better because local producers join the show, setting up their stalls in the front of the market building, facing the sea and offering all sort of fresh veg, fruits, honey and much more..

Great market for buying produce, checking out the local products, enjoying a sit down meal at one of the restaurants and cafes, or enjoying a stroll next to the water! The architecture of the market building is beautiful, and there is such a lively energy to the place. Random, but I would recommend trying the churros that are made fresh at the market.. absolutely delicious!

It is a compulsory visit if you’re in Olhão or nearby, not only if you want to buy something, but to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
Saturdays are the busiest days, and you’ll also find a stall market outside with local producers of (among others) fruits and vegetables.
Usually fish and seafood are more expensive on Saturdays.
Mondays are not the best days to go since fishermen (usually) don’t fish on Sundays.
It’s not always easy to find parking nearby, but it’s worth the “hassle”

A very good market with fresh seafood, meat and vegetables. Great variety of fish, some of them we've seen for a very first time. highly recommended, especially if you stay in Olhao and have an opportunity to prepare food by yourself.

Great place to admire the local fish and vegetables on sale . Ghevtwo markets are next to each other. Outside the markets are plenty of cafes and bars to suit everyone. They are great palaces to people watch

The outdoor Saturday Market is especially amazing! Huge!

Well worth a visit to see local produce, as well as some wonderful handicraft shops. Plus spoilt for choice for cafes, bars and restaurants. A Definate must :)

Although we had a rainy day. We were lucky to be in the market place on Saturday in Olhao. It was very interesting to see local people and all the farmers who came to the market to sell their products.
