Me and my sister took catamaran to travel to this stunning place where you can enjoy nice views and walk next to Atlantic Ocean and have a relaxed and peaceful time. It was a bit stormy when we went there so could not really swim in the day, but water was pretty warm and beautiful views when you see waves coming your way. There are some food places, bars just next to the ocean side and it takes only 45 min to get from Faro city. Would definably come back here again.

Nice beach with warm water. Not as many buildings or hotels around which contributes positively to the experience. The surrounding lagona is interesting to see, on the way to the beach as well!
easy reach with bus 16 or 14.
Able to see some planes around:) as it's near the airport. Very convenient if you are travelling back home to go for a quick beach beforehand :)) Enjoyed it

Faro Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the Algarve region of Portugal. It’s known for its crystal-clear waters and golden sand. There are several bars and restaurants on the beach where you can enjoy drinks and food. You can also do many activities on the beach, such as swimming, surfing, playing volleyball, and more

Perfect place

Praia de Faro, situated in the Algarve region of Portugal, offers a delightful coastal experience. With its expansive stretch of golden sand and clear blue waters, the beach caters to various preferences. Families can relish the calm, shallow waters perfect for children, while surfers find joy in the waves on the farther end.

The amenities are decent, featuring beachside restaurants offering authentic Portuguese cuisine, allowing visitors to savor local delicacies while enjoying scenic views. However, during peak seasons, the crowds can be substantial, impacting the serene atmosphere the beach usually boasts.

The surrounding area provides a quaint ambiance with its colorful houses and traditional fishing boats, offering a glimpse into the local way of life. Accessibility is another plus point; being close to Faro Airport makes it easily reachable for travelers.

While Praia de Faro might not be as glamorous as some other beaches in the Algarve, its simplicity, accessibility, and suitability for different activities make it an appealing destination for families, water sports enthusiasts, and those seeking a relaxed beach experience away from the more bustling tourist spots.

The best looking beachon the coast, when it comes to classical views. Endless sand, beautifully shaped waves. Clean sand, no underwater rocks.

This beach might a copy of the one from heaven.

Unlike the other city beaches, this is a lot more beautiful and easier to get to and simply relax. We had a great time reclining on the deck chairs. Cost 5€ each with covered rattan umbrella. It's on a island by itself that has one way in and out controlled by traffic lights. Though crowded we found parking quite easily. Free. Lots of restaurants to choose from and looks like a favourite spot for those in Faro and those visiting. We tasted what I believe is the best paella so far that I tasted in Portugal. Great place to relax.

Gorgeous beach! Loved the cafes and bars dotted along where you can sit and have a meal or just get a drink to take onto the sand. Not very busy in January, but definitely not deserted, with people swimming, walking dogs and just chilling in the sun. We took the bus from the city and had a walk into Ludo nature park to see if we could spot the flamingos that live there, then walked down the boardwalk to the beach. We took the ferry back later in the afternoon which was beautiful - a half hour cruise through the wetlands for less than €3!

Excellent beach on the Isla da Faro. Massive car park. Lots of trendy bars, restaurants and kiosks. A proper Portuguese fishing village. Summer can get very busy and take a while to get there across the single lane bridge but out of season it's fine. Well worth a visit. Take the long walk down the beach to the very end and see the Isla Deserta.

Nice beach really close by the city. It is wide, with a good parking just in front and a few bar too. We went there while waiting for out hostel checkin, and before flying back. Highly recommended.

So beautiful! It's such a quaint, intimate place - stunning scenery, lots of wildlife and not difficult to get to from Olhão or Faro centre.

Great spot for surfing but the current can bit a bit strong. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful beach. I was in Dezember there and you can really enjoy a long walk on the beach. Every 10-15 minutes there is a bar or Restaurant where you can also enjoy a small break

Even though this beach is right next to the airport, it is really incredible. Stretches for miles in both directions. Sandy in a good way :-) also there is parking, showers and bathroom facilities, as well as a selection of beach side cafes.

Beach could be any luxury destination in the world. It was clean, sandy and the waves were big. We walked for miles in the sunshine. The further you walk the less people about. The buses were regular and not overly crowded. Great day!
