Praia de Monte Gordo

This a great long and wide beach, sandy and clean. It's hard to find a pebble here so it's perfect for barefoot walking. There are several boardwalks leading to this place from the town and there's at least 200- hundred meter long boardwalk along the beach. The beach is wheelchair accessible.

On the top of that there's several very nice restaurants serving fresh seafood and a few beach chair/sun loungers/umbrellas services available.

You can walk along the beach for miles and enjoy some fantastic views of the Atlantic ocean. Monte Gordo beach is about a 2-3 mile walk from the river that separates Portugal from Spain.

The only con is the lack of the public bathrooms in the area. And no soft serve ice cream.

One of the nicest beaches we have stopped at so far in Spain or Portugal Clean, big beach. Fine light sand. Walkways everywhere, including many connecting beach and town. Spotted with eating establishments and lounge chairs and umbrellas to rent. There was an aerobics class at 10:00 on the morning I was there. It appeared to be free and looked quite good. Located at the East end of the boardwalk. Which, is the greatest feature of this beach...a raised boardwalk that goes on for several km. Haven't found a public toilet yet, but did see one shower nearer to the town on one of the walkway connecting town with beach.

Beautiful beach with the warmest water in Portugal. Great boardwalk for runs or walks. Amazing atmosphere and a lot of great places to eat and very reasonable prices. Great for families. Just have to watch for the jellyfish once and a while.

Beautiful beach. Specially early in the morning, when the sun goes up. Looks massive and calm before crawd hits it. Good for taking pictures and relax walk or running

One of my favourites beaches in the country.
Clean, not very crowded, warm water, huge area, nice sirs selling "Bolas de Berlim" (cakes), nice restaurants and coffee shops just a few meters away... 👌

Fantastic and well maintained beach, just beautiful. Reasonable hire of beds which are comfy. Lovely boardwork with loads of restaurants to choose from which are great over looking the sea.

It's a fantastic beach. Offers all you can need, sun, water, shade, great places to eat...

Best beach I have ever been on. Starting from Portugese/Spanish border, we never got to the other end of this beach. After about 10km there was still beach ahead, as far as the eye could see. Monte Gordo is not a party town. Quiet at night time.

Absolutely gorgeous best beach I've seen also great wooden walk way for older people or disabled. Mother's with pushchair, also easier on your legs lol 😂 instead of walking in the sand😎

Miles and miles of clean fine sand which now has a raised walkway with bars, restaurants and toilets all along the Monte Gordo sea front. Sunsets over the fishing boats can be magical.

Stunning beach. Very clean . Lots of cafe's and bars along the edge . Clean toilets are also spaced along the beach at 200 meter intervals. Loved it
