Church of São Lourenço

In January 2024 the church is open with the following schedule. We paid 2 euros to enter, very beautiful, worth the stop

Beautiful architecture. Paid 2 euros and photo allowed in order to preserve it. You can always Google it the pictures if you need it! Only accessible by car or bike!

Gorgeous church absolutely worth’s visit. It costs €2 to get in and no pictures are allowed inside. But worth it to just be inside such a beautiful space if even a bit out of the way. Totally recommended!

A gem. It does not appear to noted in tourist information but please visit. Go with a totally open mind, outside is nothing special, the entry hall has some interesting tiling, but please pay the 2€ entry fee for a truly jaw dropping experience. I took some friends there 4 days after my first visit, and will go back again.

One of the most beautiful church that i ever see. Entree € 2 and forbidden to take a picture as I don’t see the reason why because all over Algarve even the world is possible to take a picture and is only good for their income to taking care the church and employees as the church start to fall down.

Stunning 17th centuary tiled interior, with gold altarpiece. There is no photography allowed so leave your camera at home. There is plenty of information in the booklet available on entry. This booklet is available in many languages and explains all the main features of the church. The staff were very friendly and also spoke multiple languages.

A really gorgeous jewel - unassuming and not very crowded. This church is very richly ornamented and contains São Lourenços life depicted in typical azulejos, not forgetting about the richly ornaments.

Found it because of mention in J.Saramango's "Journey to Portugal". Very nice small church. Yes, taking pictures not allowed, but come on - do you really need to take pictures everywhere you go and rate an object 1/5 because you got no picture??? Yes, it costs 2€. And it is 15 times less than a boat trip to Benagil caves e.g.

The church was closed from 6 to 20 Dec because the person who opens it was on holidays. There was a sign at the entrance. But it is opened regularly from today 21st Dec.

Breathtaking beautiful little place 😍 make sure you have change to donate and get in there is no cashpoint near and the only cafe near is cash only ❤

Lovely church, was closed today when I visited for 2 weeks. But saw the outside and some of the tile work, would look amazing inside!

What a stunning church! From the exterior it looks pretty ordinary but it’s well worth going inside to view the beautiful gold carvings and the blue tiles.
