Church of the Saint Condestable

Beautiful church. Worth a visit if you are around

Quite stunning. Worth a visit, even for people like me, who are immune to all religious PR.

Very interesting church, at least for people who are curious about the 'more conservative' tendences in religious architecture in the late forties and early fifties of last century. Open every day before noon and in the late afternoons.

This 1950's church built in the gothic style houses the bones of the Sainted Constable of Portugal who was doing his duty at the Battle of Ceuta in 1415 where a young Prince Henry the Navigator was proving himself. Our Constable was also the builder of the ruined Carmo Convent left to remind the city of Lisbon of its devastating earthquake of 1755. This is where the Saint's bones were removed from to be housed in this church of his name. Also known as Saint Nuno of Santa Maria this parish Church of the Sainted Constable is dedicated to his memory. Dying in the same year that Joan of Ark was burned at the stake he is not forgotten in the hearts of the Portuguese. His church with its twin bell towers is easily spotted on the Lisbon skyline today.

Uma noite maravilhosa no concerto de Natal .....GOSPEL COLLECTIVE.

Merita una visita. Sono custodite i resti mortali di s. Nuno de Santa Maria de Condostavél, eroe nazionale del 1400.

Igreja muito bem concebida e muito bonita. Vale a pena visitar. A 5 minutos do mercado de Campo de Ourique. O interior tem bom ambiente e está muito limpa. Propícia para a oração e meditação.

Igreja muito linda, junto ao Mercado de campo de Ourique. Tem uns vidrais nas janelas lindíssimos. Cá fora conta com um jardim com vista desafogada.

Igreja muita bonita. Os padres que aqui dão missa são também muito competentes, a comunidade é muito simpática. Quem quiser praticar, recomendo.

De estilo noegótico con una fachada blanca y gris, destacando sus dos torres y el escudo de armas sobre la puerta principal, fue inaugurada en 1951. La iglesia ocupó el lugar en el que se encontraba una fábrica de tejas.
