Bistro Edelweiss

My first visit here was a delight, beginning to end. The only thing I regret is that I didn’t make here earlier, since it was on my bucket list for quite a while already.
The atmosphere caught me right away. You can tell the love for playful details when you look at the setup. It is way too much to grasp with a few looks, but that doesn’t mean that it is overloaded. The owner from Switzerland found a good balance.
By entering until leaving the waitress was always there, very attentive and helpful. Although we met for the first time, we managed to go beyond the pure business talk about ordering and recommendations and the talk has been always fluent, open and funny.
With a first look on the menu, I knew already it would give me a hard time to come to a decision. Too many delicious offerings. Lucky me, I had taken a sneak peek via internet the day before and so it didn’t take long to order.
The sautéed veal liver in butter with herbs, accompanied with mashed potatoes and green beans was nothing but a revelation. When the waitress showed me the dessert menu, I couldn’t help but ordering a piece of carrot cake which turned out to be as much as delicious as the main course has been. With the dessert, I got served a special creation of espresso with cream, topped with whipped cream and cinnamon.
This place is a clear 5*-Star-Recommendation.
I surely have to come back to try out the other offers from the menu.

The restaurant is very nice with spacious seating. The decorations fit the theme and adds to the ambiance. Staff were kind and offered to show us photos of the food while we were ordering which was great to know exactly what we were getting. They brought some small crackers and carrot sticks with a dip to start and then our ordered meal came fairly quickly. Overall the food was great and would highly recommend!

Cozy Swiss place. Healthy and special cousin. I was wandering to eat good veal liver and good mix of deserts with swiss cheese. And good atmosphere on terrace nearby

The perfect place to have a good evening with a glass of wine with a friend or two. Great owners who are also the server and cook. Really enjoyed the vibes and the friendly people. We had a great swiss cheese plate and appetiser.

Wow, what a hidden gem in Lisbon! We were so caught up finding all the "must-go" places in Lisbon, we almost missed some of the more local culture, including this adorable Swiss restaurant just a few minutes drive to the west of the tourist part of the city. You could even walk here from the Barrio Alto, which would work up the appetite you'll need to indulge in all the delicious Swiss delicacies offered here! The service was extremely friendly and we chatted up the co-owner a bit, learning about the place and its history. The interior is decked out in 70s retro-Euro decor, adding to the allure of this already delightful beacon of charm. Everything we had to eat was fantastic, complemented by the lovely atmosphere that took us immediately away from our exhausting and touristy whirlwind through Lisbon. I can't say enough great things about this place. Just stop in and see for yourself!

I had the pleasure of discovering Bistro Edelweiss while wandering through the charming streets of Lisbon, and it turned out to be a delightful find.

My partner and I decided to try their cheese fondue along with a bottle of Portuguese white wine. It was my first experience with cheese fondue, and I must say, it was absolutely incredible. The cheese was rich and creamy, and the wine complemented it perfectly.

The staff at Bistro Edelweiss were incredibly attentive, making us feel right at home. The warm and welcoming atmosphere added to the overall experience. It was the perfect setting for a lovely evening with my partner, sharing a bottle of wine and delicious food.

What makes Bistro Edelweiss even more special is the fact that the owners themselves serve and cook for their guests. This personal touch creates a unique and friendly ambiance that's hard to find elsewhere. We truly enjoyed the vibes and the company of the friendly people running the place.

Bistro Edelweiss is a hidden gem in Lisbon, and I can't recommend it enough. Whether you're a fondue aficionado or just looking for a cozy spot to enjoy good food and wine, this bistro is a must-visit. We left with full stomachs and smiles on our faces, eager to return for another memorable evening.

Delicious food and friendly staff. They speak english, french, spanish, portuguese (and I think German as well). Lovely place for couples or to enjoy with family. If you ask they will recommend you places or beaches to go.

I was curious to try a Swiss food and here in Lisbon I had this opportunity last year.
We tried the Cheese Fondue served with Bread and Kirsch, with these extras ( potatoes and Smoked ham) for 2 persons.
It had a special taste, exactly as I wished.
From my view, I totally recommend this place.
I've appreciated the hospitality of the place and the staff.

Charming restaurant in a quiet street. They have some outdoor seating across the street which receives daylight in the afternoon. The selection of cheeses is great and the raclette was delicious! Drinks were also good, and decently priced. Service was average but definitely not bad.

You know those places that can transport you into a completely different setting? Well Edelweiss was one of them for us. The atmosphere was romantic and cool, not noisy at all, the chefs spoke in french and swiss(i think) and the lightning was just superb. The food itself was also quite good, tho we did find the bread a bit stale and not good. Much cheaper then it looks, a definite must go if you are into cheesy dishes !

I really can't praise the experience at Bistro Edelweiss enough. My wife and I had an superb dining experience. Lisbon is full of nice restaurants, and there are more and more coming everyday. However, there is a lot of redundancy in the options Lisbon presents the diner. Bistro Edelweiss is unique in many aspects - from the menu choices to the quality of cheeses and wine selection and including the personal service - but excels in each of them. They provide a hearty but refined option I have been craving.

If you are looking for high-quality food in a cozy atmosphere you won't find better than the hospitality at Bistro Edelweiss.

One of my favourite places in Lisbon. Food is amazing, little bit of german, french and switzerland, just what I miss the most. Also beer choice is decent. Service and atmosphere is very nice and warm, feels like you're visiting your grandparents.
