Absolutely wonderful local gem! Had some lovely savoury pastries together with some local sweet natas. The coffee was also delicious and their orange juice is as fresh as Atlantic air!

We decided to go for afternoon cake in Bank Holiday and had just a short wait for a table to enjoy goodies. Lovely choice of cakes and famous pastries , including mini options and all the usual tostas , torrados you can expect. Take away option and gift packages to take away. Lovely Treat

Amazing place for delicious breakfast! Traveseiros are a must, but try their salty pastry too! The one with cream cheese and ham was great

Ring the chimes and chime the bells. You just found a place that should be a must on any Sintra list.
What makes this place so special? you are asking correctly.
On one hand it is an old establishment, a typical traditional Portuguese cafeteria: lots of delicious pastries, strong bitter espresso, old fashioned design, vegetable soup and strong local vibe. Locals visit this place regularly.
On the other hand: the welcoming and prompt English speaking service, the crazy good salads (do not miss the salads!), the wraps and burgers, makes this place one of the best in the region.
The place has lots of parking but be careful the road is narrow and busy going to and from old sintra.
You must visit this place.
I added a picture of the chicken (“frango”) salad. My favorite.
If you come at lunch time prepare to have to wait for a table.

Good food and amazing sweets. Can get a bit caotic given the amount of people that go there, but all in all great place.

I have known that his café for many years! It's always welcoming, the food is always fresh and the owner and staff are the best. There is parking in and outdoor seating. If you haven't been yet. Go! It's in Sao Pedro de Sintra.

We tried Sintra-born Queijada and Travesseiros pastries here. Service is kind and friendly. Lots of locals queueing up for take away pastry.

The pastries here are really good, all of them. However, this is the home of the local traditional pastry, queijadas de Sintra. A cookie sized pastry made with cheese, my personal favourite. They sell them in packets of 6. The rest of the food is great too. The service was a little slow this morning, but they were extremely busy.
