No doubt the prices are surprisingly high but it was convenient to us given the location of our rental. The young man acknowledged the high prices and was pleasant about it. I wouldn’t buy anything but the most necessary items.

We thought there wouldn't be many options in the town so settled for a sandwich here. Keep walking to the main area by the Sintra Palace and you'll see much better sandwich and other food options, cheaper too.

Paid €15 for a €3 bottle of wine, but it was the only place nearby and our Bolt to the beach was 2 mins away.

1 star because the prices are outrageous, but giving 2 because I respect the hustle.

Sintra is overrun by tourists who will most likely never return, so why should the merchants there be concerned about their reputation? Poor service and price gouging goes with the territory and this place is no exception.

Attendant followed us around, giving no space to consider our purchase that we HAD to make because we dared to use the restrooms in restaurant next door. Overpriced. Pushy and invasive.

Total rip-off and they know it. Some examples: €4,50 for one cup instant noodles (!) that cost 0,90 in any supermarket. 4,50 for a loaf of toast bread also. Nope.

18 euros for four bottles of water, two bananas, and some butter. Total rip off.

Take a longer walk down for groceries, overpriced

I added the store but it's an overpriced tourist trap. Consider visiting it to fine yourself for an awful trip preparation.
