Amazing restaurant and fantastic staff, the food was well priced and delicious, the service was perfect and the staff were extremely kind and attentive. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants a good experience. Bring cash as they don’t accept card, but there are ATMs nearby.

both the bacalhau in a soup(there's not much bacahau unfortunately) and the linguiça+mushrooms were very good, but the former in itself is enough for one person(if you eat the bread). Sangria was good too although it got me drunk af (if you see a dizzy person dangling around the national palace of Sintra around 2pm on the 27th that would be me)

Also the lady/girl in the store was so nice and friendly, pretty funny too, had a great time

We only had 2 tapas, but they were very tasty. Sangria and apple pie were also good. The service was perfect, very nice and funny people.

We had trouble finding a place to eat because we had brought our three small dogs (shih tzus). No place would accept us but A Taverna did and it’s situated at a really nice, quiet street!

Food was perfect. My family, especially myself, finished our plates. Shame we didn’t have time or room in our stomachs for dessert because of the large portions. But I would definitely have tried them if I could!

Server was very friendly. We had a whole conversation about living in Sintra versus Lisbon. He also greeted other patrons as they made their way in & out of the restaurant, thanking them if he knew their language.

One thing to note is that they only accept cash. This was fine for us, but definitely a must know before arriving. Our server let everyone who passed by know, which is good!

I recommend eating here, especially their bacalao (cod fish) if you’re in the area. :)

A cute little restaurant located in an alley way typical of Portugal/Europe. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was very fast. I recommend sitting on the patio so you can people watch while eat.

The food was delicious, we felt welcomed and at ease. Having dinner with a tired 3yo can be intense. But Catarina is a special human, and she interacted well with our little one. Making the whole meal experience pleasant and calm.

Stumbled upon this lovely gem while searching for Portuguese dishes and fell in love! Servers are fabulous, very helpful and friendly. We loved the entire experience - they even taught us how to eat fried sardines!

We stopped here on a Tuesday night shortly before closing for a quick bite and a couple drinks and had a lovely time. They had heaters on to cut through the chill outside, and it felt very cozy. The waitstaff were very personable and friendly. Would highly recommend.

When I read the comments that people have eaten the best octopus here, I thought "Yeah, right, I have heard that before". Fast forward, i was amazed by the quantity and quality of the octopus. Absolutely loved it. The rest of the food also. Underrated place, I really recommend it.

A great place with fun staff that enjoy their work as well as accommodate your wishes. Food is so good we had to come back for dinner another night! Would recommend anyone to visit this place for dinner. Quite some tasty options for vegetarians as well.

Best pepper steak of my life. The sauce must have a secret. And the space, decor and vibe of the restaurant is very classy. Totally recommend.

We discovered this gem early in our week of visiting Sintra. We ordered the soup Caldo Verde and Sea Bass Cataplana for 2 which could easily have fed 3 adults. We savored each bite and actually finished the dish. On our next visit we shared a bowl of soup and the mixed salad which fed us both. Our most recent visit we shared the Feijoada Portuguese- Portuguese bean stew- rich, filling, flavorful, and I’d LOVE to get the recipe. Each visit the staff has been friendly, efficient, and we appreciated their knowledge of English, also overhearing their conversations w other guests in Spanish and a bit of German! 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for food quality, service, and prices we could afford.

It was the second time we went to this restaurant, and like the first time, I was delighted. Delicious food, well presented dishes and good service. The recipe for success!

We had Bacalhau a bras, caldo verde, pasteis de bacalhau and all were very good our first time trying any of these Portuguese dishes! The hostess was super and helpful with describing the menu and suggesting dishes. Great place to eat with average Sintra prices.

It was delicious food and wonderful atmosphere, I recommend everyone to go there. Paying in cash only.

Great food and great service. We ordered the grilled seabass, it was very fresh and well seasoned. We also had the codfish cakes, which were very delicious!

Lovely place, the stuff was very nice and helpful and the food was amazing. Also, the portions were quite big. Would definitely recommend :)

The vegan leek and potato dish was incredible. The waitress was very friendly. A great meal after visiting Pena. Cash only though.
