Food was well and portions are pretty large especially the steak sandwich which is a sharing dish definitely. Good bread and olives to snack on while you wait for your food to come. Would recommend getting the cheese with smoked ham and figs it is very warm and spreadable for the toasted bread which was delicious. For dessert try the apple crumble and you won’t be disappointed. It is a menu where you check off all items you want and submit it to your waiter so it is a friendly process to anyone who is shy or introverted.

I had a phenomenal time as Tascantiga. I was recommended this restaurant by our driver and it lived up to the hype. The portion sizes are massive, we ordered the beef sandwiches and they came out with two, we notified the server as we thought they gave us two orders but the portion size is amazing and allowed for my husband and I to enjoy our own sandwiches. All the food we ordered was incredible. Taste, texture send flavours were perfection. Customer service was amazing, all the servers and even the owner was there working the floor and everyone was very kind to us. We finished up a Europe tour and this was our overall favorite meal from all the countries we traveled. Food quality was top notch. Don't think twice, this is the restaurant you're looking for! Highly recommend it!

Recommended by a local, and it did not disappoint. Easily the best meal we've had in Portugal on our 2 week (eating) holiday yet! Small meals to share, a lovely variety, each perfect!

What a beautiful surprise to find this gem! I really recommend to arrive a bit before the opening hour so that you make sure to have a table outside, considering they don’t take reservation.
The food was excellent, from the octopus, to the mushroom with the cheese and ham. Wow!
Love it!

This is an absolute MUST try. I don’t just mean if you’re in Sintra, but it’s worth the trip from Lisbon alone. The freshest seafood salad you’ll ever have enjoy. Filled with generous portions of shrimp, mussels, and octopus, all prepared to perfection. If you’re new to octopus, here is where you try it, and you won’t be disappointed! The cod cakes were outstanding, as was the homemade beer. The setting will make is simply bliss. Don’t forget the Port to savour the experience. The entire staff was also a wonderful pleasure, just as great as the food.
I may live in Canada, but I will be back!

Delicious food and great service. Amazing prices and great selection of wines. Even if there is a waiting line, it is worth to wait as the food is tasty and wines are well priced.

Although not during peak hours, we still had to wait around 20 minutes due to its popularity. The dishes were beautifully presented, and our favorites were the seafood salad and candied pork cheeks.

Loved the food here it was worth the 10 minutes wait before they opened at 12:15.
Octopus was sensational! The Garlic prawns were stunning as well. So good. We had the cheese board and it was the best one we’ve had in Europe so far. The sangria was delicious.

The views from this restaurant are immaculate. Beautiful and great service.

Food came out very quickly too!

I must admit that even waiting outside and the slightly high price is something worth the experience of having lunch here. The food was great ni had the soup with chorizo and the cod salad. I recommend the pumpkin and requeson dessert. I will comeback just for it.

Nice local restaurant serving tapas style small dishes. Alfresco dining is available but limited tables. The price is also very reasonable considering we are up in the Sintra hills.

One complaint - I asked for my beef cubes to be medium but they came more like medium well. Otherwise I did like the taste of the dish as the tartness of the pickles came through nicely.

Food was great, service was wonderful, and the patio is a cute place to dine. The octopus and beef cheek were our favourite dishes. We also really enjoyed the strawberry cheesecake in a flowerpot. Food is very aesthetically pleasing and equally as delicious.

This quaint Tapas restaurant located in the narrow back streets of Sintra was a gem. We sat outside and looked over the city, although it’s a bit obstructed with trees, nevertheless really beautiful. The tapas were among the best we had in Portugal. I highly recommend the mushroom, goat cheese and Iberico ham and the prawns!

Staff were very friendly all the time. Food is delicious, very authentic and you can feel like every dish has its own unique taste. Service is pretty fast, kind and friendly. Definitely one of the best places in Sintra. As negative point, I only would say the opening hours could be longer.

Lovely place to have lunch in Sintra. Very traditional and authentic Portuguese food. Not too pricey as well. About 8 Euros per tapas and 2 were enough for one person.

The octopus dishes are great - we had the Seafood salad and the grilled octopus, and both were excellent. The service was very friendly as well.

They also have vegan options.

By far lunch at Tascantiga was our favorite meal during our Portugal trip. When we went, the entrance was a little unclear (they had it roped off which we thought meant it was closed) but after inquiring, we were seated quickly on their beautiful outdoor patio.

The food here was so good. We ordered a few of the tapas: the cod dumplings with olive puree (mostly out of curiosity), the toasted spare ribs, the candied pork cheeks, and the French fries. Everything we ate was amazing (I forgot to take photos of everything because it just looked so good and I couldn't wait). The cod dumplings were texture-wise very different, we liked them.

We also had two sangrias. I'm not sure if it's just Portuguese sangria that is so good but I can't stop thinking of that sangria. It was bubbly, not too sweet, and unlike any sangria that I've had before. I'm going to try to recreate it because I loved it so much.

The service was great and quick. This was the perfect place for us to recharge during our trip to Sintra. The prices were also so affordable for us. Every restaurant we went to after Tascantiga, we compared to here. I've already recommended it as a place you can't miss to all of my friends going to Portugal this year!

Excellentè!!!
Walked in to have lunch but please make a reservation. Won’t recommend doing a walk-in. Waiting time is guaranteed. But this means they are awesome with the quality of food.

The seafood and carnes are good options with their sandwiches.

With the heat, from visiting the town, a jug of Sangria was not enough. A perfect place for Sangria, Port Tonic and homemade beer.

Their washrooms are indeed a showcase. Won’t spoil the surprise. Make a reservation to dine in here.

We loved this place. The food and service were both top-notch. The restaurant has plenty of seating and has a lovely feel about it. It's an interactive menu in which you are given a sheet of paper and a pencil and asked to tick off the dishes that you want - simple and effective.

We ordered quite a few dishes, and everything was absolutely delicious. Prices were very reasonable too.

The location is towards the top of the hill, but it was worth the additional steps uphill to get here.

Lovely place, the service is super quick and the food very tasty. The food in general is very tasty abut I truly loved the bolinhas de bacalao and the bacalao salad

Really liked their seafood salad and grilled octopus. Portion sizes are small, so one would need to order two dishes. Staff is friendly, and the setting is quite nice, surrounded by orange trees and greenery.

Do try their curd cheese ice cream that comes with pumpkin gateau. It's delicious!

A bit of a climb, and there was a short waiting period at around 2:30 pm. on a weekday. It's on the way to Quinta da Regaleira.
