Romantic, quaint, and intimate. The staff was phenomenal and extremely friendly. The food was mouth-watering and creative. I will be going back and recommend this for any date night.

We turned out at 25€/person bottle of wine and dessert to share between 2 included.

We sat down a bit late but managed to get a table – and how happy we were to have had that luck: A tasca do João was probably the best evening we spent in the south of portugal.

The Tapas – with the perfect wine combination recommended by the chef – were absolutely delicious. We shared everything on the table and even when we were full, we ordered some more, just to have tasted nearly everything on the menu. The table was so full and so our bread got an extra chair =)

Great tapas bar. Not the cheapest, but everything we tried was superb. You should definitely go for the braised tuna and the fresh cod, these are exceptional. They also have a great selection of wines to pair your tapas with. The waiter was taking it easy and let us finish our drinks past the closing time. Unlike other restaurants around, this one is open on Sunday.

This place has a lovely atmosphere, owner and his staff were always very nice and helpful. Tapas were of a good quality and size. Wine was great especially considering the price.

I came as a recommendation of a friend and it has surpassed all my expectations at multiple levels.

I don't typically write reviews, but felt compelled to leave one for this place. Please go and support this spot! The owner is a really friendly man who goes out of his way to host you. The tapas was perfection (don't be discouraged by it being cold tapas - it is very, very delicious). Arrived late and João accommodated us; one of the best meals I had in Portugal on a calm and beautiful square :)

Amazing food, great service, and quite affordable. We had a mix of warm and cold tapas and a really nice wine by staff recommendation. Considering a trip back to Faro just to come again!
