Beautiful and epic hiking routes around a lovely lake with otherworldly boulders and great views. There is a bar / restaurant but it was closed in March when we visited so bring your own sustenance. Definitely worth the trip to get there and spend the day!

Beautiful place, great for setting up a picnic. Just look at the forecast to make sure you go with good weather.

Excellent place to have a dip with lots of places to lay your towel down and go into the clear water. By summer time the water temperature is actually quite nice.

Good quiet spot for nature lovers during Autumn. Great for a hike or trail run around Penhas Douradas

Great lake for swimming and recreational activities. A few walks around to do too. Lovely during the summer

A beautiful reservoir in Serra da Estrela. The water is cristal clear and cool, it is big enough to find a lovely private place not far from where you parc your car.

Great place to spend the day "at the beach". We found a good shade and spent almost the whole day there. There is a restaurant that serves complete meals and light meals (toasts, sandwiches,...). There's also a place to rent some equipment (SUP, kayak,...). It was for great!!!

Stayed in the camping area.
You can buy electricity for your tent. The bathroom is shared between men and women but is cleaned everyday. Staff is very friendly.
There's a restaurant near the lagoon where you can have a snack or eat a real meal.

Great alternative for a beach, although small it is still a very enjoyable place to chill, sunbath and swim. Also great to have some nice walks around.

Amazing lake (with a dam). In September it was still warm, and so serene. Even though it was Saturday, there were very little people. Great spot to stop for a picnic, or for a walk around the lake.

Great place to go for a quick dip in the water. Very calm and cool due to shade all around the lake.

Great chilled out lake in the mountains. Good bar nice food. Staying two nights instead of one.

It's a stunning place especially the drive in the mountains ( besides having my wife screaming all the way through) it's amazing looking forward again

Fantastic spot for fresh air and a refreshing dip, especially during the smokey wildfire season. Gets impossibly busy on weekends in July/August

Great place to cool down and take in nature at a beautiful lake and 1437 meters above sea level.

Stunning views from the dam and also the amazing drive up through the switchbacks. Loved it
