Cute place, very kind and accommodating staff, good food 🫶🏻

- the Octopus is a must!! But it’s a lot for one person, so I’d recommend this one for sharing

Special mention to Diogo for being such a great and friendly waiter!! He made our dinner experience really great.

Best experience ever! We booked from google, very convenient. Food was perfectly cooked and presented like arts. The waiters came to check our feedback and needs now and then, and they were really friendly. They speak perfectly English. It is a lovely place and you would not be disappointed at your choice. If we come back to Lisbon again, I would love to eat here again. We recommend mushroom soup, tuna, local style meat stew and chocolate cake. The restaurant located a little bit high up so better go there with Uber. About the tip, they give options with 10% tip or without, but I think the service worth it.

The food was amazing and served by friendly and helpful waitresses. One of my best meals in Lisbon.

Food ordered
- breaded Sardine with gazpacho & bread

Very nice appetizer with a savory, light and slightly sour tomato based sauce

- Roasted Meagre with mussels, beans and bacon

One of the best fish dishes I've ever tried, very smooth, fatty and soft with slight chewiness of the meagre with a seafood sauce base. The crispy fish skins are to die for! It also creates a different texture and brings a nice savory touch to the freshness of the fish. The sauce is seafood-based with half clear and half cream. The flavor is magical, definitely no regrets in enjoying our last night there in Lisbon. Dishes are well sized.

- Creme Brulee with apricot and vanilla ice cream

Size is great for two to share, it tastes great. It is definitely their best dessert on the menu, just wish for the apricot jam to shine more and the cream to be a bit less dense.

Great great food experience. 2 starters, 2 main, 2 bottle of water 94 euro. Excellent quality of the vegetables and fish used for the dish. Nice presentation of the plate and excellent service

They accept reservations on google so feel save booking in it. We tried only the octopus because we were not very hungry. It is really tender and tasty. I have rarely tried an octopus that way. I need to underline that there is a lot of oil and a bit of garlic but I liked that way. Recommend

Very nice little restaurant, our server was adorable, very good advice for the wines that accompanied our dishes and also for my boyfriend who didn't drink wine, he was able to offer him an alcohol that fit perfectly with his dish. Refined dishes, flavors that I’m not used to eating and it was exquisite! Thank you very much for this experience ☺.

Great location to have locally prepared Portuguese favours.

Food
- We ordered the Octopus and house stew main, along with the lamb appetizer. All were delicious in their own right. The tenderness of the Octopus was something we’ve not had in North America while the house stew was intriguing with its mixture of meats.

Service and Atmosphere
- the restaurant and waiters were welcoming, took their time explaining each h dish and we did not feel out of place.

The food was delicious and I really recommend to taste the skate in coriander sauce, oysters, sweet potatoes and seaweed, for sure the best I’ve eaten so far!
The service always kind and friendly.
About the cost I can say that is more expensive than average but Worth it for the quality of the ingredients and the combination of flavours! Super adviced!

We had a team work dinner here and it was amazing. We were in Lisbon for a week and the entire team agreed this was the best food we had in Lisbon.

I got the octopus, melted in your mouth. And the pumpkin crème brûlée. Perfection on both.

The staff were great and the atmosphere too. 100% will visit again. Thank you for the great experience.

Great meal. The octopus was perhaps the best I’ve ever had, and the olive oil pudding for dessert was amazing.

Best restaurant we've been to in Lisbon. Great service and the food was amazing. Really enjoyed the wine recommendations for the food, they were a great match! They accept cards now, so no need to bring cash. Try to reserve in advance as the place is pretty small. If you want to have a very nice Portuguese dinner, this is the place to go.

Really, really, outstanding seafood! I can highly recommend the octopus and the tuna - both are not only best quality but also come with perfect sides and are extremely well seasoned. That said, all other seafood we had was exceptionally good as well. The meat options at least looked good as well, but I think you would miss out on the real highlights, which are seafood.

The service is quick and friendly the atmosphere to my liking as well. There are tables outside too. All in all easily the best restaurant we had in Lissabon and the pricing is reasonable as well.

"We returned to this restaurant 5 years later and the octopus was still the best my husband has ever had. A new menu except for the octopus and everything looked delicious. Service was also excellent as was the first time."

Loved the dinner here and all the dishes were cooked to perfection!

Sardines were crispy and perfectly seasoned and went really well with the tomato soup

Tuna: seared perfectly and not overcooked. It came with crispy yam, corn sauce with some popcorn and herbs and all the ingredients meshed really well!

Octopus was soft, well seasoned and cooked

Versículo d'O Faia in Lisbon offers a remarkable culinary experience that beautifully blends tradition with innovation. Their upscale modern Portuguese cuisine is a revelation for the taste buds. The Portuguese beef and lamb dishes are nothing short of perfection, showcasing the rich flavors of locally sourced ingredients. The meats are tender, expertly seasoned, and a true homage to Portuguese gastronomy.

To top off the meal, their Portuguese desserts are a delightful finale. Each bite is a sweet symphony of authentic flavors that leave a lasting impression. This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone seeking an elevated Portuguese dining experience in the heart of Lisbon.

What a delicious meal in Barrio alto!
Enjoyed the sardine appetizer, cauliflower soup, cauliflower entree, and swordfish. All we excellent. Beautiful presentation and service was spot on.

Small restaurant with intimate interior and outdoor seating as well to view people traffic along the busy cobblestone streets.

Try the sangria. 750ml will get you about 3.5 glasses - go with the 1.5L for only 30€!!

Today I've had my first transcendental experience with food.

I never knew I can be surprised with mashed potato. No need to say about tuna and shrimps. Food in this place is on pricy side, but it undoubtedly worth it.

The must order dish here is the octopus which was cooked perfectly. Our server also made some other great recommendations for the sea bass with clams and sweet potato puree, and the beetroot with guacamole and strawberries which were both delicious.

We finished off with the pineapple, chili pepper and moscato dessert which was the perfect ending to the meal.
