Alfamar Beach & Sport Resort

I was so worried to stay here after reading the bad reviews, but we arrived yesterday and all is great so far. The lady in reception is lovely and checked us in 4 hours early. Our room is spacious with a great sized balcony and spotless. The dinner was lovely with plenty of choice. The outdoor pool is clean with plenty of sun beds amd the beach is spectacular. I will update after we leave, but honestly, ignore the horror stories.

At the time of our visit (Dec 2017) this place was in need of an upgrade. Tired decor and very old-fashioned; however I have given it 5 stars because it was very cheap, the beach location was superb, the staff were friendly and laid-back and for what we paid we were very happy. Our apartment was spotlessly clean, and cleaned every day, and we strolled over to the hotel and used the bar and pool every day. The beach is a few steps down and is beautiful.

3rd Time I've been. First time swapped Garden apartment for a Villa only £50 more. Pools cool, entrance to beach fantastic. Few kilometers walk to the end of the beach right side leads to another complex on a harbour and a little town l didn't get to. You can see the Town from Alfamar, l thought it was the harbour by mistake and buy the time l'd walked l couldn't be bothered. The beach is hot and suntan weather but windy in May like Malta. January nice and quiet and warm. The short receptionist with Bob brown hair and glasses always seemed bothered and affronting when l approached which put me off as l didn't understand. The hotel was perfect, grade 2 but you make it your own. I'll probably go again next year.

Quite frankly I am disgusted by some of the poor reviews, all from cheapskates I suspect. Yes the hotel is somewhat basic/dated but the rooms are large, the position next to the beach fantastic, and the food, while not haut cuisine, is typical iberian tourist hotel fare - unexciting but perfectly edible. However, how much did you pay???? That is the relevant question. I give it five stars because it is such value for money. My only small gripe is that the free WiFi cannot cope with the volumes - it's a big hotel - so only worked in my room from about 1am to 7am .It was fine in the main hotel areas at all times. If you want a true four or five star hotel then expect to pay double or treble these prices and don't moan unfairly about a place that is such good value.

Great service great food. On top the beach which very clean and great walks on the cliff tops. Only thing is its a little out the way from nearest town so we hired a car which was about 55 euros for 3 days.

Good location to holidays. Big and wide area. Long and nice sea beach. Such a nice place. Inside swiming pool. Very nice sport place too. We can have long walk with family,friends. We can find all kind of rooms. Really nice and very lovely place for holidays.

Good hotel. Located in quiet area. Just 2 min away from bus stop. By nature of location is recommended to rent car. Breakfast is average quality. Just 1 min walking to beach and swimming pool. Highly recommended for families.

Very nice and friendly hotel with lots of options for entertaining the guests. The breakfast is very good. With outdoor swimming pool and indoor swimming pool with a nice and warm water. Have jacuzzis and sauna as well. Lots of activities for all kind of sports. I extremely recommend this hotel.

Very beautiful place to go with familly, or with older friends. There are not any bars near here. Plus - beautiful beaches are quite empty. We have been here on the start of July and the weather was guite cold (very windy and oft overcast, 24°C, the see 19°C. ). We were setisfied with the hotels service.

Very nice and clean resort and hotel, lots of things to do, good food, lovely beach, many sports facilities (track, shotput patch, pools (indoor (very heated) and outdoor (definitely not heated)), sauna and hot tubs, volleyball court under cover. Quick and not intrusive maintenance work. Nice staff. Nice :)

Lovely view from room. Not much around hotel. Could hear the waves from the balcony. Breakfast very basic. Had a great time.

It's great if you want a quiet away from everything beach holiday the food is amazing bar staff very helpful BUT if you don't have a car the buses are regular but finish early and limited on Sunday

This is a fantastic place at a great price. The apartments are very clean and tidy. The hotel, spa and sports complex are all available to use so a great deal.

Lovely hotel, will be returning. Right on a beautiful beach with lovely sand. Great hotel to have a relaxing stay. Lovely buffet breakfast, great housekeeping and lovely friendly staff

Nice hotel in a beautiful location by the beach. Good size rooms. Food is excellent. Highly recommended.

1 at time here loved it nothing to much to ask room was clean but at the back of hotel breakfast plenty of choice I was asked by a manger halfway through my holiday were we injoying our holiday I replied yes but I wish I had book a sea view room we went shopping came back all was done best 60 euro I have ever spent will I be back yes yes yes

Absolutely gourgous hotel beach is amazing not a lot to do around the area so if your looking for a party holiday I wouldn't recommend but if you want to just chill it's perfect
