Such an amazing place. We went back 2 years later since our first time just to eat migas de espargos, simply the best ones we ever had.
The restaurant atmosphere is so typically Portuguese that makes you feel welcomed.
The food is amazing and serradura is a must for dessert.
If you are in the area this restaurant is a must.
Marco was really pleasant and helpful, which made the experience excellent.
I am 100% sure that we will go back when we are back in the area.

11th October 2022, Located off the beaten track in a tiny hamlet, the place does not disappoint and deserves its high rating. The establishment is divided in 2 separate areas, a bar where people seemed to be able to have lunch too and a restaurant area. The whole place is well cared for, very clean, nicely decorated with regional wares, it is very welcoming and the owners/staff were helpful, very pleasant, attentive. The service was very efficient and very professional. We had some excellent bread with a regional ewes cheese for starter, a dose of oven baked rice with duck (Arroz de pato) as main, sufficient for 2 people, a litre jar of local red wine which was very good ( there are also some good local wines by the bottle available and the guy seems knowledgeable and knows how to serve the liquor) and for dessert a Pudim café and a delicious Conventual which name I cannot recall. The bill came around 42 euros. It was nice to see the place busy on both sides and we wish them a continued success. Very much recommended.

Amazing local food. Some of the best migas I've ever had, ever. Nice ambience, air conditioning and cool space. Great, friendly service. The food was incredibly tasty and well made and the overall meal was lovely. Would definitely recommend, totally worth it.

Wow. I can’t remember the last time I went to a restaurant where every single dish hit a home run, and we’ve been to much fancier restaurants. None of the dishes here looked amazing in pictures (nor in real life to be honest) but turned out to be absolutely fantastic.

What we got:
Starters: Eggs, sardines, and mushrooms.
Mains: the fish fillet with tomato rice and pork with asparagus rice
Wine: a vinho verde bottle that the waiter suggested
Dessert: a cake thing with plum syrup

Everything was really surprisingly good. I don’t eat pork, but my husband said he has never had pork like this before even though the dish looked like plain old pork meat. The asparagus rice was a highlight. Also, we’ve had many types of fish prepared many different ways while in Portugal, but never had fried fish fillet that somehow was so tender but not soggy at all.

Price was beyond reasonable. We got everything I listed above for something like 60 euros. Service was super friendly and prompt, even though we had a bit of a challenge communicating because we didn’t speak Portuguese (the waiter was kind enough to tolerate my broken Spanish).

100% would come back again if I’m ever in the Alentejo region.

We had a wonderful lunch there. Food was very good and the owner was welcoming and thoughtful. Consider sharing portions, since they are generous. Would definetly recommend it. The detour is worth it. I would also advice on making a reservation, we almost didn't manage to get a table.

Take your time to enjoy the decor. It's a ethnographic memory of the old hard days of Alentejo agriculture.

The food is real tradicional (not a fake tour - believe me I'm Portuguese). If you're in a group, ask for different dishes, try as much as you can. Drink wine (the house wine is very good, no need for some fancy thing). Ask for fresh water to freshen up, quench your throat and please, don't drink and drive.

Wave to the chef (there's a window where you can see her) and give her a thumbs up - she will be glad to know you are enjoying your meal.

The best type of Alentejo cooking can be found here. It is so good, there are foreigners taking detours to come by.

Recomendo vivamente e prometo voltar. Preço 25€ por pessoa, muito bom.
