Unexpected this cafe the foods so good & not expensive. Because this cafe right on the famous area. Fish fresh. Chicken pasta very tasty. All dishes so good. Three old men very nice. One of Good English. Very traditional Portuguese food.

skip the line to wait (it’s for if you want a table), and go to the counter! you are served fast. the food was delicious. we ordered one, but there was a miscommunication and we got two- which was fine with us because it was delicious! definitely recommend you check this out on your travels. it is affordable for many items on the menu.

I've been here twice for breakfast and teatime. Both times, I ordered the bifana sandwich with cheese. It's basically slices of grilled pork with cheese slices served with bread. It looks very simple but so very delicious. The bread is soft and fluffy and every bite is full of flavour. Service is a bit gruff but they make sure you get what you ordered.

We stumbled upon this gem of an eatery without even first knowing that it was actually a super famous place! We each had a bifana with cheese which was a simple stewed pork inside a fluffy bun but somehow it was like a taste of paradise! We reordered a second round and enjoyed the bifana with the local cherry liqueur ginjinha… an absolute delight!

This place was awesome. $5 Euros for 2 cappuccino, a croissant, and a bottle of water. We will be back in here a few more times while visiting Lisbon.

If I lived in Lisbon, this place would be a regular on my list. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. We sampled various dishes on different occasions, and each time was thoroughly enjoyable. Opting to stand by the bar adds an even better experience.

The service here was top notch and the food was delicious. We were a very simple order, two bifana and two beers and both came in less than 2 minutes. We enjoyed it so much we went back and ordered another beer and sandwhich. All and all our bill came out 13 euro and it couldn’t have been more worth it. The atmosphere is hectic but authentic, I would recommend to all visitors.

If Anthony Bourdain recommends something, just go with it!

O Trevo was just a fantastic experience. It's a hole in the wall with people coming in, getting a quick sandwich, ginja, etc, eating it standing on the counter and heading out in matter of minutes. It's less of a restaurant than a food joint for the locals. But it's god-damned authentic for sure. People in shorts to people in suits were all mingling together in search of some quick, cheap and good food.

The Bifana was super, as was the chicken and fish cutlets, the Ginja drink and the custard in a bowl. The service was extremely friendly, even if a bit rushed as you can expect. The prices were ridiculously low but that's what makes it even more charming. A place that's found fame in the global food lists but doesn't care about that in the least and stays true to what it has always been - a Portuguese local community watering hole catering to all.

Must must must visit.

Simple good food and good fun.
You don’t come to a place like this for fine dining. You come to hang out with the locals, and eat what they eat. Bifana, Prego and soup of the day for cheap. And €1.5 for a glass of Ginjinha. Nothing to complain about.
Super friendly English speaking staff.
Had loads of food and drinks for two for only €25. Bring cash. No CC accepted.

Friendly staff, quick service for take away. I really liked Bifana. It's a good and inexpensive snack between meals. It's like pork döner.

Awesome whirlwind experience. The place is so lively.
You can sit down and eat here, stand at the counter and eat, or get your food to go. People are doing all of it. Small space but a good amount of seating indoor and out. People are moving in and out of this place constantly. Busy but everyone gets served. People wait about 3-5 minutes for their food after ordering. It is such a cool atmosphere.
Most expensive thing in the menu is €3,30.
Cash only.

Definitely must visit if you are hungry and want quick lunch! Small very busy restaurant with great service and very tasty bifana! Ordered soup of the day, bifana with cheese and Sagres... and then had to order one more bifana how tasty it was! Topped it up with coffee after all. Its also very cheap, but they do not accept card, however there is ATM right on street outside the door which charges you over €3 fee for withdrawal so better come prepared

Their Bifana has been endorsed by Anthony Bourdain. Try it with a dash of peri peri oil and mustard sauce. The place reminded me of a fast-moving cafe in Mumbai. Service is great with friendly staff.

Anthony Bourdain influenced me to stop here. The ham and cheese sandwich along with the chicken soup and cod fritter were a treat. Simple and inexpensive, in and out in 10 mins.

The bifana is amazing. The seasoning is amazing. The roll is so fresh, even at 22:00. Be sure to try the mustard with it. The piri piri sauce is pretty spicy. Not my cup of tea. I highly recommend. P.s. bathrooms clean.

I go crazy for a bifana and a beer from O Trevo. I always come here every time I’m in Lisbon. No where else in the world can you find a bifana made the way they do it. I love adding the hot sauce and mustard to it. It’s heavenly.

Food was really delicious, the espresso was good and the prices were very reasonable. It was a busy afternoon when we went but they found us a table and tried to help us with ordering despite not speaking much English. When the waiter realised we were sharing our dishes, he brought out extra plates for us! Not only popular for tourists because Anthony Bourdain recommended it, but you can tell it is a favourite of the locals!
