Quinta das Murtas

Stayed in the bungalow near the garden for 2 nights.
Big bedroom with a big comfortable bed, bathroom with a powerful hot water shower, we did not Cook in the kitchen just used the microwave so I'm not going to comment on that. Breakfast was really nice with plenty of choice, the fact that had time slots was better so not everyone was going at the same time, although we went early and was served straight away. The garden looks like it came out of a fairy tale with the lovely pond and lots of little hideaways to discover. The staff were all very nice and professional. Everything was very clean and there was an amazing smell we could smell even before we stepped in the room, it was that nice that my husband brought the name of the product they use to try and get it for our house.
Overall very nice hotel in beautiful Sintra, and we recommend and definitely will be back.

We went in December. Location is great, really close from the city center and the village.
Service was great, super professional,they upgraded our order so we stayed at one of the apartments. They also opened an breakfast slot a bit later after my request.
Palace is gourgeous.
We loved it and totally recommend.

A very quaint and eclectic bed and breakfast. In addition to the rooms on the main house there are little apartments in the garden. The staff were very nice and gave us very detailed information about what to see in Sintra.

Stayed in the bungalow, it was lovely being in the garden. Small kitchen with 2 pots, but enough to cook a small dinner.

Hotel - where we went for breakfast - felt like it was out of a novel.

Excellent old house hotel in SINTRA. Very near to the train station so you can go downtown Lisboa in 40 minutes.

Very good and picturesque hotel. It has it's own garden, also main building has some pictures.
There is a hotel confined parking lot, very conveniently located close to the main building.
Breakfast was very good with several options to choose.
WiFi was good. Our room had fully completed kitchen, which was convenient.
Only one note for consideration - the hotel has some bungalows, so please be careful when you select your booking.
We would definitely consider this hotel on our next trip to Sintra.

We needed rooms with twin beds and parking and found this one. The apartments all have AC and they were perfect. Spacious and comfortable. There is a great restaurant called Metamorphosis that is a 7 minute walk that is outstanding! Ate there for 2 nights it was so good. Breakfast is small but adequate. Super clean! Get an apartment and you will not be disappointed!

Our party of 2 adults, 2 seniors, and one child had such a great experience at Quinta das Murtas and have already recommended it to friends. We had two apartments near the main building - both with a mini-kitchen and mini-split heat/air conditioning units. Comfortable furniture and beds; nice bathroom with a shower/tub. Rate includes a great European-style breakfast in a glassed-in room with a lovely view. ALL of the personnel at the property were so very friendly and helpful! We were even allowed to park our car in the gated lot prior to and after our check in/out times. This was particularly appreciated as parking in Sintra is mostly for residents only. It was easy to take an inexpensive Uber from the quinta to wherever we needed to go. Nice places to eat and visit within walking distance. We had a delightful time, and we will certainly return!

What a find, and what great value too! The combination means that I step out of my review comfort zone and give a solid 5 stars. Do not mistake that as being a 5 star hotel in my opinion. 5 Star hotels are usually very bland, corporate and characterless in my opinion. This is a 5 Star on the Simon scale of character, friendliness, helpfulness, attractive room and stunning location, Quinta das Murtas has it all in barrow loads, including a Cockatiel to keep you entertained at breakfast. Well his comedy routine had me laughing.
A big thank you to all the staff who made my short stay that much more pleasurable.

Magic at first sight!!!! We stayed in one of the charming apartments by the little lake. Woke up in the morning and opened the curtains to an absolutely romantic, bucolic view of the luscious greenery, beautiful property. Incredibly relaxing. Sumptuous breakfast and nice staff. Will be back!

had a very enjoyable stay at the Quinta das Murtas. The hotel is situated in a convenient location. If you prefer to walk, it is only 12 minutes to the center of the city and 10 min to the train station. You have to remember you are in Portugal, so it will not be a straight road it will be hills that you will be going up and down. It was fine for me as I like to walk. The hotel has 4 wonderful birds, 2 macaws and 2 cockatoos. I enjoyed watching these beautiful birds.
The front desk staff is amazing, very professional, and knowledgeable. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent, and a great way to start the day before touring the city. The hotel was originally built as a wedding gift for the daughter whose future husband had a royal background. I felt like a princess staying in this hotel. I had a wonderful room, and felt very welcome in this hotel. When I return to Sintra, I will again stay in this hotel.

The gentleman working on Saturday and Sunday evening was fantastic. He helped with our travel plans and made me a glass of hot water for tea and delivered it to our room unexpectedly. So kind.

What is this place?!?! It seems like coming out from a dream. A rustic place with a very very kind manager. Rooms are comfortable and make you feel you are living somewhat in the past, like the end of XVIII century. You may walk from here to the downtown, but if you are accompanied by babies, infants, elders or people with disabilities it's better to have a car.

Friendly and helpfull staff. The building itself is a beutiful mansion super close to all of the "must-see" destinations in sintra. The breakfast was good with fresh fruit and local sweet pastries but as a carnivore I missed meat. I would recomend it to someone travelling alone or couples. It has a very calm atomsphere so I do not think it would be the best option for small kids.

Beautiful villa in a wonderfully quiet place. Walking distance to the railway station, tourist information, the old centre of Sintra, and although it's quite a hike, Castello dos Mouros and the Pena palace. It has a beautiful garden with swimming pool and jacuzzi, as well as a volière with parrots. Clean, modern bathrooms. Beds are alright. Daily room cleaning. Portuguese breakfast buffet in the morning with eggs, toast, brioche, yoghurt, fruit... Would definitely recommend!

This 3* guest house / small hotel is fantastic value for money. There is a lovely, family atmosphere about Quinta's Das Murtas, that grabs you from the get go when you are checked in. All of the rooms are different in layout in this historic building. The rooms have seen a stylish modernization, and the ensuite bathrooms are clean and recently renovated. Breakfast was included, the buffet style gives guests the opportunity to mingle and there is a good variety of fayre on offer. Recreation at Quinta's Das Murtas is very good for hotel in this price point, including a small swimming pool, hot tub/jacoozi and spacious gardens. Located walking distance from Sinatra's center and a short taxi ride to most of the historical castles and palaces, both the mainstream traveller and the budget traveller will not be disappointed with this accommodation.

Reception and check-in was easy and we were treated very well by the manager

We had a large, clean room in the annex with nice view of the valley and sea

The room was quiet and the bed was very comfortable

Free on-site parking was included in the price

The hotel is pet friendly and the manager even waived the €10 pet fee

The breakfast was very nice with plenty of hot coffee, scrambled eggs, hams, cheeses, sausage and fresh breads, yogurt, cakes and jams

Quinta Das Murtas was an outstanding value for the price we paid - €63 including breakfast for two people and our dog ... HOOAH!

CONS

Had to be moved because WiFi signal was too weak in the first room - room #3 upstairs is too far from the router
