Cantinho de São Pedro

The restaurant is an absolute must, we finally got to see what the real Portuguese food is all about. We had a roasted duck with oranges, oven baked octopus and a sirloin steak, all were fantastic. The deserts... just ask the staff for recommendations, you won't regret a thing. The service is wonderful & the atmosphere is cozy and homy.

The restaurant was recommended by our guide when visiting Sintra. I had one of the best octopus I’ve tried, so so tender. The fish was a very good option also, . The service was very nice, our waiter was attentive and offered a tasty wine sugestion.

Fantastic food with value to match. Chateaubriand done excellent well, pork knuckles good crispy. Toucinho Ceu dessert is heavenly.

This restaurant has it all - highly recommend. For lunch…100% share your dish - do it family style. The portions are very large. The ambiance is so good; best yet since being in Portugal. It’s romantic and rustic and there is a subtle smell of hickory smoke like The Lodge at Torrey Pines. We had muscles, pork medallions, and veal. The olives, bread and fresh made cheese were also appreciated. My wife had a liter of Sangria; I tried some as well and enjoyed. It was pricier ($100 for 3 people) but no regrets. It made our day in Sintra even better!

Greeted by the owner who was very happy to chat and explain the menu and recommend dishes.
Pork is their speciality, and is cooked perfectly. Make sure you have an appetite as the dishes are large and filling.

Very cozy restaurant with nice atmosphere and even a fireplace, excelent for cold days.

Stopped by this restaurant whilst sightseeing around Sintra. We shared this Portuguese pork (delicious) with a water for around €14.

It’s common practice for the restaurant to put down bread and cheese when you arrive. If you don’t want to eat it, kindly let them know so you won’t be charged.

We went to eat here both nights we were in Sintra. The restaurant manager was a super friendly person and he recommended something a dish typical of the area. He didn't try to sell us the most expensive dish, but something we'll enjoy. The rest of the staff was very nice as well. The food was delicious. The portions were big and reasonably priced. The wine was suggested based on our meal and it was great. There are LOTS of places to eat in Sintra, but go and visit Cantinho de São Pedro, you will not regret it!

Cantinho de Sao Pedro is an old family restaurant in the Vila of Sintra. It is very cosy, the staff is friiendly and with old tradition. The food is good and made in the old portuguese way. One of the best places all around to eat in old Sintra.

Nice traditional Portuguese restaurant. The prices were fair, the mussels good but a bit underseasoned, while the pork cheeks stew was amazing. Good service and a friendly waiter!

I had pig leg with chestnuts.. It was awesome! The meat was perfectly cooked ! And the pork cheeks were very tasty too!

Very good food. Staff is friendly and caring. They speak English and some French. Portions are very big :-) so for small-normal eaters one shares dish for 2 might be a better solution. The suggestion of the day was excellent 👌

My wife and I arrived late, at closing time, without a reservation. They accommodated us anyway. We had chicken stroganoff and a short rib like dish. Both were excellent and came in large portions. The atmosphere was charming. The service outstanding! Price was reasonable. Best restaurant we have encountered in Portugal. We hope to return.

Added: We did return 2 days later and I can report that the food and service were once again exceptional!

Great restaurant, staff is friendly and the location is amazing.
Their mussels are delicious! Their Sintra style cod wasn't of my taste (with mayonnaise) but everything form the bread to the desserts was really good.
Great location, close to the center but not in the whole middle, so you can park easier!
