Wow! Best Indian food I have ever had! We had the karahi and dopiaza with a keema naan. Not to sound corny, but the food tells a story in your mouth. The flavours are amazing, so so tasty 😋 you need to try the sizzling brownie, it’s insanely good. The sangria was lovely and smooth. Can’t compliment the staff enough! they were all so attentive and welcoming, we didn’t go without. Top tier hospitality! ⭐ I’d recommend getting there early to secure a table as it gets very busy and you can’t book a table, it’s first come first serve.

This restaurant is AMAZING, so much so that we ate here four times during our 10 day stay in the Faro area! The food was perfect all 4 times. The staff is wonderful and were so attentive. The owner even came over to help pick out a dish for my friend’s grandmother, who has never eaten Indian food before. If you’re in the area, or even if you aren’t, this restaurant should be top of your list for dinner! Only picture I can add is of dessert because everything else was eaten too fast!

Just a tip: water can be a bit pricey, around 3€ for a small bottle, so it's wise to bring your own. The restaurant is a bit pricey.
Be prepared for a wait as it's often packed. They even have an adjacent building to accommodate the crowd, though it lacks some ambiance. The food is absolutely delightful, making the wait worthwhile. The warm welcome from the owner and his son, along with the charming lady who may be the manager, creates a homely atmosphere. I savored baigan ka bharta with butter naan and raita on the side, perfectly spiced and delicious.

The food was full of taste, fresh ingredients and the perfect mix of seasoning and spices. I had onion Bajhi to start followed by a mains of Lamb Pasanda with pilau rice. The lamb was succulent and tender and the sauce was really alive with taste and textures.
I love Indian food and review more Indian restaurants on here than anything else, this place is a “must return someday” kinda joint.
Price wise I haven’t compared to similar restaurants near by but the pricing was on par with what I would pay in similar tourist locations to this, the water was a bit pricey at €3 but you can live with that. My total bill came in at €25

Clay oven was really lovely, the restaurant gets really busy but don’t have to wait long to get seated. The food was really good and nice bit of authentic Indian food in Portugal.

This restaurant is most definitely a place to seek out if you like Indian quisine, the food is absolutely top quality, the service is second to none, and you can watch your meal being prepared in the kitchen. Great to watch one of the staff making Naan bread right in front of you. We had a wonderful time here, and we were allowed to take home what we couldn't manage to eat.

Amazing food & service. You can see the kitchen & watch the food being prepared/cooked. Be warned that you cannot make reservations and the restaurant was packed. By 6.30pm, people were queuing out the door waiting for a table. This is by far the best Indian food I have eaten

Outstanding Indian food.
Been coming to the Clay Oven since 2004 and it’s still outstanding.
Restaurants come and go, people loose enthusiasm, standards drop and they close!
Not the clay oven, they’ve gone from strength to strength, opening a second restaurant which is spectacular, an open plan kitchen where you can actually see them making the delicious naan’s 🫓
A massive variety of curries, my personal favourite is the lamb ghost, delightful, the chicken tikka comes on a hot sizzling plate, if you’ve never tried paneer, try the paneer shaslick which also comes on a sizzling plate.
On that try the new sizzling brownie, you won’t be disappointed ✅
Owned by a wonderful family that never forget your face.
Lots of cheaper options nearby, but they are cheaper for a reason, you’re on your holidays treat yourself to something special.

One cannot think well, love well, sleep well if one has not dined well.
Haven’t checked the other places but one thing is sure this Indian restaurant serves delicious dishes 😋

I’ve been to many Indian restaurants across Europe but this restaurant has to be the best. Not only does it cater toward different tastebuds and spice levels but it has a variety of dishes to choose from. The staff are attentive and will help you choose the best dishes. We went here multiple times during our vacation and the food, service and ambience was phenomenal! Highly recommended!

I was shocked to see a rating of 4.7 stars across 1.9k reviews, thus decided to try it out. When I walked in I realised we were the only Indians, and so I thought to myself this may not be the most authentic!
However, I wasn’t disappointed. The onion bhaji looked different (a lot darker) to what I am used to, but they tasted incredible. Samosas are similar to the patti Punjabi samosas which tasted pretty good too. We ordered lamb tikka as a starter and i love how they went mild on the spice, yet it tasted so flavourful that I couldn’t stop eating! (Went well with one of the green chutneys that we ordered).
The sangria seemed quite popular based on the reviews so we tried the white one. I’ve never had ice cream in a sangria before - definitely a great creation!
The waiter was so kind - we wanted to order butter chicken or chicken tikka masala, but he warned us that it would be sweet and that we may not find it to be authentic, and offered to make it more spicy and thereby less sweet. We got our butter chicken and it was delicious - I went with the garlic and cheese naan (delicious and cheesy, though can get really heavy). Palak paneer / paneer saag was one of the best dishes if you want a vegetarian dish. Same goes for the rajma.
Shoutout to Karamjeet and Johnny for their lovely service :)

Out of the Clay oven and into the fire of a damn good curry.
Spotted the Clay Oven just walking past. Place was full and the menu had some great vegan dishes. Why not, and all I can say is … a very lucky find indeed …
Restaurant: It’s upmarket. Nicely set tables, polished cutlery and glasses with traditional music. It’s open plan so you can see the food being cooked and it smells amazing.
Menu. There’s a whole page dedicated to vegetarian dishes of which most are vegan and the many others can be adapted. With the exception of one rice and one bread, all the rice, naans and rotis are vegan too. When ordering they ask you for the level of heat you’d like - and they nailed it. We had …
Poppadoms and pickle €6 to start. Nice selection of pickles with an unusual one which was nice - can’t recall what it was.
Legume (Vegetable) Biryani €10.50. The rice and vegetables came separate (as did the meat on other tables) showing they understand veganism and the importance of food separation. It was a great biriyani with veg perfectly cooked and the sauce tasted wicked - hot but not too hot.
Baigan Bhartha (Roasted Aubergine Curry) €10.50 with Arroz de Cogumelos (Mushroom Fried Rice) €4. Aubergine is easily and quickly destroyed if overcooked but this was perfect. It had absorbed the flavour retaining its soft but tender structure. This was to be very hot 🥵 and it was, but without being a overpowering dry powdered heat. Delish and mushroom rice went well with it as they had big chucks of mushrooms in it.
Chilli Naan €4 and a Kulcha Naan (potato and spices filling) €4.50 were bloody gorgeous. Not your usual big fat doughy naans, but flat well flavoured naan’s straight ‘out of the clay oven and into the fire ‘of the spicy curry.
Super Bock Beer €3.50 each were a great accompaniment to the biriyani and curry.
It was one on the better curry’s I’ve had outside of London.
Would I go back? Yes indeedy
Would I recommend? Yes indeedy too

This is one of the finest Indian restaurants i have ever been to! The service was very good first off. The place looked amazing and had a great atmosphere. You have to go early 6-7:30 to get seated straight away as you can't book. The food was amazing it really was! Portugal can handle there heat so the medium spiced dish was pretty warm more like a hot at home but it was still very nice dont get me wrong. The Prawn Puri for starter was simply perfection in every way! I would highly recommend this place its a must try

Really nice restaurant. Food was fantastic (I had the lamb bhuna, my wife had lamb karahi gosht). Service was excellent. We'll be eating here again.

Amazing Indian food. So fresh and full of flavour. The lamb is some of the best I've ever tasted, so soft and tender. There was a 30 minute wait when we visited. The host took our name and we went to a bar for a drink while we waited. And it was definitely worth the wait!!

This is an amazing place to eat, there are 2 venues of the same name and ownership and we went to the smaller one to sit outside. By far one of the best curries I've ever had. Had a medium chicken bhuna and was hotter than I expected, but it was absolutely beautiful. Service and food is top notch. Best food we had in Portugal. Would have posted pictures but it went down far to quickly. Can not praise this place enough. Staff and owner are amazing, food itself was worth the trip to Portugal. It's a must if in albufeira.

Very authentic Indian food, for us is the best one in Portugal, can compare to the Indian food quality in England. Go for it, service is very good too.

Best Indian I’ve went in Algarve! Great food, great house, super well decorated, and super friendly and happy staff. The food was perfectly conceived, I’ve been looking for Indian food like this for a while. Had no problem leaving the deserved 5 stars! Congratulations 👌
