This was my first night in Lisbon and I am off to an amazing start. The lady working here was really nice. Had good recommendations. I ordered the steak on a stone. Not only fun, but i get to make it the way I want. And my mother (an excellent chief in her own right) went on and on about the pork ribs. The house Portuguese red wine was excellent. Good prices on the alcohol. And my mom ordered a desert to go that comes in a metal cup and they told my mom she can keep the container since it has to be served in it. Luckily I’m staying 4 doors down so I can return it in the morning. Great way to kick off the Portuguese experience. Oh and locals were coming in and out to get dinners to go so you know the food is authentic

This place looks like a tiny hole in the wall, but it is an adorable, family-run restaurant with super friendly waiters and delicious, fresh seafood, which is displayed in their refrigerated front window. We had fried mackerel- whole, tiny fish, lightly coated with flour and deep fried. Also had cod, perfectly grilled, simple and fresh from the sea, judging by the samples in the window. Veggies were boiled but not mushy.
Rice pudding was creamy and not too sweet. All the desserts looked yummy and homemade.

Prices were reasonable compared to other places in Chaido or Barrio Alta.

Great food for a low price compared to more touristic restaurants. It was tasty and very nice to eat on the table outside.

Tasty food for reasonable prices. Service was good; even when the place was about to close the waiter was nice and attentive.

Great little hole in the wall for traditional Portuguese fare. Nothing fancy and you'll be knocking elbows with your neighbour but friendly service and tasty, inexpensive food.

Simple local restaurant that appeared to be patronized mainly by locals. I had the leitão, which is roast pork. Tasty and succulent, and oh by the way, much better than the leitão I had at a specialty restaurant in the Bairrada, which is known for leitão. It came with a huge delicious side of rice and beans, which resembled paella without all the extras. My husband had the Dorada, which is the Sea Bream. Also delicious! (But he was served the whole fish, which I know some people are squeamish about.) We had two generous dishes, a bottle of water and 1/2 liter of Vinho Verde wine, all for 26 euro. We thought it was amazingly cheap for some of the best food we've had during our 3 weeks in Spain and Portugal.

It was quite good and reasonably priced. The waiter was excellent and the wine was cheap and delicious.

We had the octopus and fish.

small little store with reasonable prices. the seafood rice changed my life! just note that whatever they put down on the table in the beginning is extra price, like a lot of the other restaurants

Good food. Very well priced for Lisbon. Bread is not old. It is an old school bread style. Outter shell is hard but inner shell is soft. It does not compare to other bread in Portugal but the food easily makes up for it. Would recommend for economical meal.

The server was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of all the dishes. We already are so we just ordered the clams and pork loin which was great. Love the local vibe and will want to come back for the sardines and snail!

This is the sweetest and most typical Portuguese restaurant you could find in Lisbon. Simple and lovely, amazing food and service.
Mr. Carlos will make sure you feel at home and that you have the best experience trying local food.

Do yourself a favour and go to this restaurant.

This was easily one of the best meals I had in Lisbon (and I went to a selected list of recommended ones). I was strolling around otherwise touristy area, killing time before the flight. Waiter saw me staring at the front window. He did not speak almost any english (common in Lisbon especially among older generation) but invited me inside, sat me down, asked do i prefer meat or fowh and picked a dish for me. It was a great, honest and flavoursome meal. I can definitely recommend the place to anyone looking for Portugese food, in a good location, without any bella and whistles. Go.
