Restaurante 'Rosmaninho'

A little gem in a very small village, but with a big heart. Had great home made Portuguese food, olives, cheese and cured meat, followed by Lamb and Cuttlefish, simple but full of flavor of the sea and land. And finally the home made Crème Brûlée to die for.
We had exhausted our cash at the Saturday Market in Loule, but hey we’re so accommodating and asked for a bank transfer, even though it took 3 days to clear.
Thanks for your beautiful food and generosity. Highly recommend this place, if you want to experience Portuguese home cooking and flavors.

The best food I have eaten in Portugal this year (2023). Super tasty, authentic served in wonderful family atmosphere. It was full of locals on a Wednesday lunchtime in low season. I understand why. Prices very good too.

Memorable experience of country home cooking at its best, in a relaxed and friendly environment. This is a small family-run business, so it's best to pick one of their recommended daily dishes to avoid longer waiting times.

If I could give this lovely little restaurant seven stars, I would. We arrived around 2pm without reservations and the place was closed. The owner, a welcoming gentleman, was seeing the last group of guests off but very kindly invited us to stay if we didn’t mind eating a simple Portuguese meal which his mother would cook with the ingredients that they had. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and our conversation with the owner. The village of Sarnadas is quiet and sitting outside on the covered patio was very pleasant. If you go, be sure to make a reservation and take cash or have the ability to transfer cash electronically.

Listen to me: this place is so good.
Now, you see the pictures on Maps and you you think "Meh the food is unimpressive, those are just carrots". YOU ARE WRONG. Those are the best carrots you will ever eat in your life. The apotheosis of carrots. And I don't even like vegetables.

Jokes aside, the place is very genuine. It's one of those places that make 2-3 dishes based on what ingredient they have fresh that day, but they make them dishes perfectly. They don't follow the menu.
Atmosphere is very chill and welcoming. The location is nicely furnitured. The host is a great guy. And prices are very cheap, 15€ per person and you eat like a king.

Also don't be afraid of taking the almond Semolino dessert. Sooo good. It's not the same stuff they make in UK.

A wonderful eatery/restaurant! Homemade food of excellent quality and flavor. Very tight prices. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. It's recommended to book in advance. Very friendly staff! Obrigada!

One of the best places we've discovered in Algarve. Real gem. Food is simple, there are 2-3 daily dishes to chose from, but they are mastered to perfection. N.B. this is not a kitchen to impress, but very simple and well prepared local dishes. Examples: duck with rice, pork with potatoes. But they are soooo tender and flavourful!

Had a relaxed, fantastic lunch on the terrace today - helpful, super-friendly service of excellent food at a fair price. Really a great experience in a quiet country environment. Will be back soon.

As we understood, it's a family business. Probably the best food we had in Portugal! Be aware, they only take reservations. We are very glad that we accidentally stumbled upon that place. Next time would pay a visit again 100%

Do you want to feel like you are having dinner at a Portuguese family house and the mother is cooking her signature dishes? This is the place! You will feel at home, enjoy a nice garden view and eat amazing food that is often from the own garden or the small town. Family run business done right! This restaurant is worth even a long trip.

Please call them to make a reservation. A lot of restaurants in Portugal only open in covid times when they know guests are coming.

Esta casa é uma excepcionalidade.
Primeiro, porque é um restaurante discreto e muito agradável, de gestão familiar;
Segundo, porque ao saborear aquela comidinha tão aromática e tão boa, num ambiente fantástico e tão acolhedor, damos connosco a andar para trás no tempo. Vamos embrulhados por todas aquelas sensações tão agradáveis que nos despertam todos os sentidos. Suscita-nos a saudade e, magicamente, imaginamos-nos sentados na velha e longa mesa dos nossos avós. Sentimos até abrir-se aquele sorriso maroto e satisfeito de faminto que se rasga de "orelha-a-orelha", perante tão generosa oferta;
Terceiro, por ser um espaço enquadrado num ambiente rural e na rua de uma aldeia cujo vale define a fronteira entre o barrocal e a serra Algarvia.
Com uma desafogada vista a sul, ao fundo do horizonte destaca-se a conhecida Rocha dos Soidos como um dos pontos altos da região, e como uma boa atração "trailística" ou "senderistica".
Perante tudo que de bom ressalta, facilmente se depreenderá que aquele simpático e prestável staff familiar, dispensa mais apresentações. Até porque, como bem sabemos, os labores de lugares como este, são um previlélio reservado aos melhores.
