Casa da Tia Helena's fish dishes are simply excellent! We've already visited twice and each time the fish has been cooked to perfection. If you're a seafood lover, this is a must-visit spot.

Highly recommend. Very local place. My first stop in Lisbon 🥹 I got the octopus rice and the Pasteis de Bacalhau (recommend) and pastel de nata (recommend). The staff was also SUPER kind

We come to Casa da Tia Helena for lunch every time we visit Lisbon after happening upon it on our first ever visit.

Can’t comment on the rest of the menu because the chicken is SO good we order it each time!

As tempting as it would be to keep this place a secret so that we can continue to get a nice outside table easily - Casa da Tia Helena deserves the 5* feedback. The food, price and service are consistently excellent!

There’s a reason this place has so many good reviews. It’s delicious and in a fun area. I got a traditional Portuguese steak with a salad, one of the best meals I had in Portugal.

Food is the best in town. You can find typical Portuguese cuisine. And the attention is great.

A wonderful authentic experience! The Portuguese food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back next time we are in Lisbon and highly recommend to anyone who wants to try authentic local cuisine!

We went to Casa da Tia Helena on our first day on Lisbon. It was right beside our Airbnb in the Alfama district. We went during the afternoon, just pick this place randomly, had no expectation. We loved the food, the atmosphere and the service. Very typical Portuguese food, which we longer.
It was actually the best octopus we had over our 14 days on Portugal 🫶

Such a great hole in the wall authentic place! Great way to experience grilled sardines and the flaked cod for the first time! We couldn't stop talking about the carrots too.

If you feel like eating in a small, simple, authentic, very decently prices, restaurant in Alfama, Tia Elena is an excellent choice! The cod was, well, very salty, as any cod you find in Portugal... More disappointing, in was a bit dry. The octopus was very good, as well as the vegetables! We sat outside, enjoying the alfama atmosphere of these narrow streets

Probably the best food I ate in Lisbon. It's all about the ingredients! I had arroz de polvo, everything tasted so fresh, octopus tender melt in your mouth. My friend had carne a la portugesa, also delicious. Great atmosphere and service, highly recommend.

We had a very lovely dinner here, the bacalhau à brás was absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a very local neighbourhood feel to it, but the food is absolutely world class. It is quite small and was completely full on a Monday evening so make sure to book a table. The prices are reasonable, they don't take cards so be sure to bring cash.

I've lived in Lisbon for 4 months and tried several restaurants and this one is definitely the best! The food is very tasty, the pasteis de bacalhau are crunchy and delicious, the polvo is very good and the service is friendly. In addition, the price is not excessive. We can tell that they do their job with love and not only for the money. I would go back again and again 😊

A hidden gem in Alfama for traditional Portuguese cuisine! We lucked out and got a table outside to enjoy the weather.
We ordered the pasteís de bacalhau (cod cakes) and the octopus à lagareiro.
The food was amazing and service was pleasant!
Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

The staff was very friendly and the food was really good. The bacalau croquettes was the best in Lisbon, sardines was amazing and also ask for green wine!
