Dined in today for lunch and it was delicious. Traditional
Portuguese fare prepared with the best ingredients. Wait staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this historical old restaurant.

We had a great experience; steak was cooked on point and the coffee sauce was unique and delicious 😍 waiter guy was really friendly too, paid around €100 for 2 steaks, one salad and two glasses of wine which isnt cheap but worth the nice atmosphere.

Pasteis de balcahau with coffee did just the job for a morning when I wanted to have something light but special after an 8K run along the riverfront.

Imagine little bursts of savory ocean juice melding with occasional sips of strong bittersweet coffee? And not forgetting that this cafe is part of the rich history which surrounds you as you sit back and look out at the majestic plaza and into its long sculpted archways.

But come only when it’s not summer and the crowd is sparse!

Lunch was a scrumptious and fresh Portuguese Tuna Steak with perfectly seasoned salad and fries. Their Pastel de Nata rates among the best with no hint of egg whatsoever. We’ve visited this restaurant often, whenever in Lisbon, and it never disappoints and this time I decided not to forget the review. The staff are jolly and professional and will always tell you if you are over ordering as some dishes are more apt for two people than one, the food is delicious and the price reasonable, considering it is the Praça do Comércio. This famous restaurant was a favourite haunt of Fernando Pessoa, Portugal’s most prominent author who died 90 years ago, and his table, which no one is allowed to sit at, is still set in the restaurant. Looking forward to another visit as soon as possible.

It was lunchtime on a weekday at the time of our arrival. The staff seated us quickly at a nice table and our waiter made us excellent recommendations. In terms of portion, the meals are huge therefore one must order with caution. A meal for two would probably feed 4 people.
In terms of quality, it was out of this world. Muito obrigado por tudo. Quando estivermos na cidada novamente, voltaremos com certeza. O seu restaurante é imperdível em Lisboa!

Worthy of its accolades indeed. I had one of the best grilled sea bass ever today at this restaurant in downtown Lisbon. The fish is fresh and subtly flavoured with olive oil yet. Located in one corner of the plaza, you'll find friendly service from English speaking staff who are not shy of recommending the specials on the menu. Absolutely yummilicious. 😉😜

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Definitely check out the daily menu as it has plenty more options of which some are also a bit more affordable. Would absolutely come again.

Very good place and awesome location (in the Praça do Comércio)! You have to order the house cod (Bacalhau a la martinho), very tasty and delicious!
This place is not cheap but it totally worth it.
They also have a great variety of fish and meats, and some other small plates (tapas).

Highly recommended! You must visit it when travelling to Lisbon.

Came here after touring Lisbon. The staff were very friendly, and they had menus in french and english. Food was cooked well and fish was very fresh, it was a bit salty for my taste, but other people at the table loved it.

I had great memories from an amazing dinner 3 years ago, and this time I was happy to see that the quality of food and service was still on top level- the service was outstanding, very friendly and helpful waiters who had a great knowledge about the menu and recommended us delicious options. I will definitely come back next time I visit Lisbon

Best food we had in Lisbon. It was seasoned well. Grilled swordfish was wonderful. Excellent service. Only complaint, and I understand this is very personal/cultural, but a futbol game was on the TV loud while we were sitting outside enjoying the ambiance. Highly recommend.

Wonderful lunch in this amazing restaurant in Lisbon which dates back to the 18th century - try the sardines or other fish dishes with local wines - fantastic experience with great staff who will give you good advice.

This is the oldest restaurant in Lisbon , but it has the FRESHEST seafood in town. I loved my grilled Grouper which I selected myself with the help of Antonio ,
He suggested a white wine to complement my dish and it was amazing.
We were a group of 12 , but are table had
3 servers, they provided us with complementary appetizers of just carved
on the board slices of Serrano ham mmmmmm. Next time I'm in Lisbon I will
make it a must revisión. LOVE LISBON

Best experience in Lisbon. The restaurant has got so far only 4.1 on the Google Maps, and I don't find it's a fair ranking unless the reviewers had expected sth very extraordinary from that historical place! I expected just sth decent and got more than that: delicious fresh octopus salad (one of 2 best I have ever tried since 20 years ago in Croatia), good and inexpensive wine and the best Pastel de Belen! The service was outstanding! Many thanks to Dinis and Antonio Gomes for doing their best for me - they really made my last day in Lisbon very special!
