One of the nice beaches in Porto. Atlantic Ocean is beautiful.. very windy and nice waves.

Beach area is nice and clean. Loved the sand as it is so clear. You can enjoy sun bath and picnic on beach side.

Water is cold in April but still many people were swimming. You can enjoy the walk or sit peacefully.

This is kind of weather you can find here. The great view, but a bit windy. Good Promenade with underground parking. I love this place.

Lovely beach nearby 30 minutes by bus from Porto center. Also a lot of surfers enjoy nice ocean wave here

I love this beach, even though it is extremely crowded in the summer. Be aware that the sand is very fine grained and clogs up all your stuff.
There is a huge selection of surf schools available because for beginners this is the perfect place to try out surfing for the first time.

Very large sandy beach. The beach water is clean and you have a large area covered with fine sand. The tricky part is to find a changing room. You can always ask someone to find it. Water was clear without any algae or anything. Good for family time. Have a great time.

Beautiful beach with sand or stone on either side. Big waves which made it impossible to go into the water safely but we managed to get in really quickly before a big wave came crushing down. The water was a bit cold but nothing out of the ordinary for february

tremendous rocks and little coves to swim in. the beach is beautiful, but go at low tide if you intend on swimming. it's a little weird to get to because it's between some industrial zones, but there's a half-hourly bus connection and a regular tram service a short walk away.

It is an amazing beach and place. I feel happy whenever I go there. There are a lot of cafés and restaurants, beautiful street to walk and see the ocean

Beautiful wide beach, stunning view of ocean, you can smell ocean. During my visit there were really huge waves and it gave some special feeling. In addition there is really eye catching cotemporary building of Porto Cruise Terminal, unfortunately i don't know if you can go close to this building.

The best beach in Porto city. You can be reach the area by metro. There are 2 parking lots. Good beach for basic surfing and bodyboard. Plenty of options for taking surf clases. A good spot for sunset!!!! Many places around for taking a drink at the end of the day.

so beautiful beach in the city, although the water is pretty cold and a lot of seeweed but it's clean, soft sand and along. Feel free to be here, perfect sunbath and listen the wave. So peaceful! From the city center, you can take the bus 502, 500, metro with 2€ and let spend time for the sunset.

A beach little away from the Porto City Centre. Vast expanse of fine sand and se. The beach is between port and Fort on the other side. On a sunny day this is the place of activity and people enjoy sun bathing regardless of the wind which still might be cold. Lovely place with lots of bars around to get coffee and beer.

Beautiful beach, near the city of Porto. If you are going there from the city, you must take the 500 bus to admire the view of the coast along the way. This beach is close to restaurants and easily accessible. Water is cold but it's normal, it's the Atlantic ocean.

Awesome! Had an amazing walk thru Matosinhos beach, everything was great, weather, views, people, really safe place… it rained a bit, but it’s cause of the time of the year, plus it was refreshing! Lovely, wide beach. Clean enough. It situated next to a bid port. Probably, this fact is not good for the beach.
But, anyway I like it. Especially, you can take a walk around... or just relax with a full bottle of a good Oporto wine) Amazing)
There are too many seagulls, and sometimes you can feel something like fish smell.
Anyway, I would recommend it.

Water here is always warmer than at any other beach. The bottom is covered with sand with no rocks and shells that’s is amazing for children.

Beach is always crowded, but you can find free place anytime.

I give 5 stars for one visit.
I think in winter or autumn time, you will be shocked by seagulls.
You will rub your eyes when you see them for the first time. They are more than 10,000 seagulls. Those seagull flocks made me feel trypophobia. But the nice view and you can go there by number 500 bus in the station of Saint Bento.

Nice beacy stay in Matosinhos! Windy, but warm. Busy but not crowded.
