XVI century italian style tower/castle inside the old medieval wall. Building by the same line of architects of the Belém tower. Just check it out.

Amazing location. The castle has a lot of reading material at the floor level and a nice view up top. You can explore the walls both on top and inside. It's a very calm and peaceful place although very windy.

Beautiful views, you can walk around most of the walls and towers, €2 adult entrance to castle during opening hours including access to the roof, nice café with friendly staff close to castle called The Place

Beautiful place, calm, quiet, peaceful, one great example of how great Alentejo is. Recomend going there and camping in a near by camp place, is cheap and worth it, the is sky in the night is nothing I ever saw before.

Interesting place to visit if you are in the area and like Portuguese history. The inside is much more impressive than the exterior.

You are going back to the Middle Ages here what a great hidden pearl of beauty. Its in-fact stupid from me to write this review as on of the beauties is that it is so quiet with almost no tourist.

A different kind of castle. Views for miles. Interior is more decorated then you'd expect. Quiet place.

Beautiful view all around the castle. The building itself is quite different from other portuguese castles but very beautiful. Pay attention to the roads around next to the houses since you can find some painted stones with typical houses

Amazing 360 degree view of surrounding area.

Good typical village up in the castle. Entering the castle is not that easy by car but there are good parking areas just before the castle gates. Worth a visit.
