Walton Airport

Walton Airport is permanently closed now.
The historic Walton Airfield holds immense historic significance for the country. At the time of partition, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had landed here in 1947. Prior to the establishment of a new airport in the 1960s, Walton served as Lahore’s main airport.

I've been there for a flight and the whole place is very secluded and set apart from the noise outside. The various aircraft hangars were the most interesting aspect because they are quiet and somewhat mysterious.

Not a pointless and needless Asset but this is the only place in whole Punjab or you can say whole pakistan that teaches Flying to Bloody Civilians otherwise wise this profession is only restricted to Military personnels. The Airport is still there from decades , but the people and population surrounded it. That could be prevented by taking precautions and not allowing Anyone build huge structures near it but who can stop the Mighty Askari or Fouji people. Anyhow this airport is under consideration of relocation , govt is trying to find a new place for this precious asset or have been forced to relocate after all there is plenty of space left to build more of Askari Things.
