One of the pioneer restaurant here in GenSan!

Tried their famous Chicken Inasal with Java rice. Sweetened soy charcoal grilled chicken that is not commercialized. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beef Papaitan (P60) is the bomb for me! Super tender which is seasoned perfectly and best paired with a warm rice. Will definitely come back for this!

Takes about 30 mins to prepare.

If you are a batang Gensan who grew up in the city in the 90's, then you probably know that functions and weddings are held in this restaurant. Their chicken barbeque with java rice is an all time favorite and I'm glad they are back to business again after the pandemic. The resto now gives off old vibes but the chicken barbeque still tastes the same as how it ia in the early 90s. Sulit balik balikan

Ask any over-50 resident of General Santos City and they'll surely have delightful memories of Halina Restaurant. Despite fierce competition from local and national brands, Halina Restaurant is still up as one of the city's best chicken barbecues. I'm withholding a star for the interior's left-behind vibe and equipment, and the customer service served by only one crew. Otherwise, just come here for the best barbecue in the city!

This is one of the city's most enduring restaurants. Still open daily at the owner's own Arenas Building across the Oval Plaza, it is famous for its chicken barbecue with Java rice plus papait (beef). All their chicken + rice meals are priced below P100 and short orders (pancit etc) average at P130. Wide dining area. ⛑ - Covid safety protocols in place.

I was resently attacked by isis while eating here, but the food was good 3 out of 5 for the food, but the hostage taking was not fun so 1 out of 5.
