In a nutshell:

I was referred to this place by my brother, when asking about mouth watering lechon baka. Surprisingly, they are more popular with their grilled native chicken ( Manok = chicken to my foreign friends 😁).

Surprised to find a lot of fancy cars parked beside this small - medium sized "native food" resto. The prices fit for those on a budget.

How to get there:

Skip it and you'll miss it. If you are coming from banilad, make a right turn to AS Fortuna, after that gas station, start slowing down. Your marker would be a Chinabank branch to you right. Maco would be 2 shops along the road after Chinabank, and they have a big signage anyway, but will be hard to spot unless you pass them. There is a small parking up ahead, that used to be the entrance (now closed) for a village.

Pros:
- lechon baka - nuff said 😅
- their lechon baka is the real deal, as I've tasted, and they come in 3 sizes to cater to the customers needs. Solo or on a date, try their small plate at 325 pesos. Trust me, it's really really worth it.
- try their native lechon Manok, that's what they're popular for 😉
- ask for their buko juice. It's served cold and still in it's coconut husk so you get the real deal. See picture to know what I mean 😂
- the entrance is deceiving because it seems small from the outside but has ample spaces inside.
- try their desserts as well as they have a lot on their menu, but for starters, try leche flan
- friendly staff, easy to talk to esp about their preparations for their lechon baka
- they offer the 20kgs beef leg for large parties, but you'll need to order this in advance. Well worth it though ☺

Cons:
- parking may be an issue since it can accommodate 2 cars at best, and it's not safe to park here during work our as you might cause a small traffic jam
- if you're looking for air conditioning, this is not it. You can come in the late afternoons to early evenings when temperatures cool down a bit.
- easy to miss if you don't slow down

In Conclusion:

Had a blast being it's my first time here, and YEARS since my last taste of lechon baka. I def want to come back for their native chicken. Trust me folks, the trip is worth it. Easily top 5 places to try in Cebu City.

👍👍👍

If you want good native chicken and exceptional roast beef then maco Manok is the place to be. Also their garlic rice is off the hook and it’s definitely authentic filipino food. A must try if you’re in Cebu.

The BEST Native Chicken in either Lechon Manok or Fried style! Their roast beef is a personal favorite of mine. It literally melts in your mouth.

Native chicken is tastier than the normal ‘bantris’ or mutant chickens from fastfood chains yet SMALLER in size. Don’t believe the complainers who say their chickens are too small or overpriced. It’s NATIVE CHICKEN. It’s ORGANIC. It’s NATIVE. Of course it’s gling to be a bit more pricey but you can’t beat that taste.

Don’t be an ignorant reviewer and know your food.

If you're looking for tasty native lechon manok, this is the place to be. This hole-in-the-wall diner along A.S. Fortuna also serves the best roast beef. Although service is sometimes slow, the waiting time is worth it though. Their native chicken tinola is a must try too!

We called ahead to order so when we got to the place our food was ready. We got the classic lechon manok bisaya and roast beef. LAMI JUD! Ma lasahan jud ang lamas sa manok and ang roast beef humok pud. This is in AS Fortuna branch. Best to go there after lunch about 1pm to avoid the rush. 100% recommend

This humble food store offers native chicken (roasted or fried) as its signature dish. They also offer sisig meals, grilled pork belly, chorizo, fish, and also back ribs. Space is small. Good for 30 persons. Price ranges from 50pesos to 300php

Our go-to place whenever we crave for native chicken. I would highly recommend their spicy bisayang lechon manok. Please expect the chicken to be smaller than the usual lechon manok because it's native chicken. 1 bisayang lechon manok is good for 2-3 pax.

Their native chicken is always my favorite. Soft, juicy, and flavorful.

We also tried their pork sisig which was also good. Their pork BBQ was soft and addicting. They also sibot soup which is so nice after a long day of work.

The first time I've been here, I thought "Oh! this is a better option compared with other restaurants offering back ribs in their menu." Know why? Simply because Maco Manok can compete with its rival market not only with its cheap prices but more importantly because of it's quality taste. This local restaurant wants you to pig out.

HUWOW. just HUWOW!!!! had a feeling it was going to be good (all the smoke coming out of the resto) but huwow - it was better than good. The chicken was excellent but already expected that. Ordered the butter garlic shrimp which is common in places like these, but huwow!!! Couldn't stop eating it. Even when there was no shrimp!! Also ordered the roast beef (beef in a chicken House??!) which I didn't want to order initially but super glad we did because, huwow. Just HUWOW. Seriously. Also had the fresh buko which the server chilled!! Ayayay this place!! Note of caution, their sauces, which are on everything except the lechon manok, are a bit on the sweet side but so what. It's soooo gooooood
