I'll give this well kept museum five stars because it has a lot of information. It runs through textiles, implements, history and has some genuine (so I was informed) adult mummies and a small child in wickerwork baskets, and some skulls showing how they were deformed.

Unfortunately everything is in Spanish, so take Google translate along to get more out of the visit.

On the downside I turned up at 17:20, the guy said it closes at 17:00 but I could go in. I rushed around in ten minutes. As I was about to ask what time it opened to come back, he asked for 10 soles. There is no sign and no fee was charged on entrance. I thought that was a bit expensive for the few minutes I had.

I argued that I would come back during normal hours the next day. He reluctantly agreed.

Opening times and entrance fees should be clearly posted at the entrance.

This made the Pisac archeological site more meaningful to me…. especially the cemetary because Pisac has one of the largest known cemeteries of the Inca with many tombs in the wall…. but by now you’ve probably learned that the mummies were still considered citizens and some served as huacas and were visited and taken out to participate in society…. and skulls with holes and elongation were found here too!

It’s a helpful aid before or after your trip to the ruins because it describes the function of many of the sites….

It’s all in Spanish, but worth translating and the visual aids make it easy to get the basic understanding….

What I loved most was how they use inserts from the famous historic book written on the Incans by Garcilaso Inca de la Vega to explain Incan culture.

It also only cost me 5 soles

Muy accesible, tiene distintas galerías, ubicado en pleno centro. Lo visite un fin de semana no había mucha gente en el ingreso ni mucho menos en su interior así que por ese lado fue bastante espedito y agradable la visita. Recomendable por si andas dentro de la ciudad pasar a visitarlo.
