The Immersion was a huge 5 Star experience learning from the locals in an incredible environment! Thank you Selene, Farein, Nelly and Claudia.

I am not so experienced in fine dining so I am not the right person to judge probably, definitely all thought through and very well executed of course we had the tasting menu for the andes and we cannot like everything, we wanted to try.

All in All good experience and I would recommend it together with the BOTANICAL TOUR and the matching drink tasting after the tour, just like other people commented!

The drink pairing with the food was for me a bit too much. Generally good quality and great esthetics all super harmonically combined.

Glad there is a place that celebrates and educates those important traditions!

(Highlights: The potato varietes with tasting outside of the restaurant, after the tour a cacao drink in white colour and a drink muna based a bit similar to basil smash from the looks
From the food:
Lamp tartar
Cocaleave pie, chirimoya cream
The icecream that looks like little rocks)

Thank you

An incredible culinary experience next to the moray attraction. MIL is the sister restaurant to Central in Lima, which is one of the best restaurants in the world. At MIL, they showcase the cuisine and produce from the local area and their interpretation and dishes were unbelievable. This is a highly recommended spot for an incredible experience. Super friendly and professional staff. Must book well in advance.

A wonderful and magical experience!
If you come here you should absolutely do the full immersion and not just the menu. The food is fantastic and I enjoyed the taste of every dish and drink, which were so skillfully created.
But it is the immersion that ads so many layers and knowledge that only then you really gain the full appreciation of what MIL and the food is about.
I had a big grin on my face from the beginning to the end.
And a big thank you to the amazing team!

5 stars from start to finish. We arrived at 9:30 am and walked through the area with one of the local farmers who explained the usage of the different plants both from a medical viewpoint and how they each of them are used in different dishes and drinks.

We got to taste all plants and flowers which were part of the walk. This for us was one of the highlights of the day.

You get a beautiful view of Moray during the tour. With a change to take great pictures.

Afterwards we got to enjoy 3 creative cocktails. Flavors and smells that we did not have a vocabulary to describe but it was an incredible experience to explore the flavors of the local roots, herbs and fruits.

The lunch menu was divided into 8 courses. We went with the drink paring, which I highly recommend. The portions of each drink is perfect for one meal. They are creative and fit well to the flavors of the food.

Everything were presented beautifully and each bite was a new experience.

The building is tastefully designed. You get to explore the drying, fermentation and pickling stations. Everything is made with local ingredients. The staff is highly engaged in their job and provided great service.

Go for the full experience if you decide to go. It’s totally worth it. I know it a lot of money, but you don’t just pay for the food, you contribute to the local community.

Highly recommend! Thank you for an incredible day to remember.

I cannot say enough good about this place! They are carrying on with the experimental spirit that the Incas and their predecessors started in this beautiful, fertile valley! The experience is beautiful, the people in the restaurant care about what they are doing. There is a lot to learn and feel by going to MIL. Make it part of your tour of the Sacred Valley!

This was my first fine dining experience and being a vegetarian, I was wary of it was going to turn out. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised. This has to be one of the better meals I have ever had in my life. The engineering that had gone to create the dishes were out of the world. I went for the thousand world vegetarian gastronomic experience. The food is subtle yet has burst of flavours and is well presented as well. We also tried their cocktails which they had made with their own infusions. A must visit and chef virgilio has created a gem of a place. The staff was extremely courteous as well. A must visit.

Stunning location, amazing food and fantastic service. A procession of courses where each one was delicious, all derived from their home in the highlands. The setting in Moray was also spectacular. Each table had its picture window out into the mountains with swirling clouds that day. That scenery added a lot to the enjoyment of the meal!

Each moment is a taste perfection, every interaction was purposeful and meaningful. What an experience! We are grateful to our guides, Cleto and Eric and our server Sophia. Definitely worth the wait.
Thank you for your generosity, Chef.

This place is unlike anything I have visited before. The place is beautiful, surrounded by amazing scenery. The building is nice and the staff were all very polite and professional. The food was fantastic - multiple courses of delicious and well thought out combinations using locally sourced (and many never heard of before) ingredients. The staff is very knowledgeable about the different qualities and characteristics of each component and how they blend in flavors with each other. The whole experience is about 3 hours long, and on the high side of pricing - but in my opinion it is worth every minute. I strongly recommend this place if you’re visiting Cuzco or Valle Sagrado and want to learn more about the rich culture of its people and culinary past, present and definitely future.

Perched at an altitude of 3,600m in Peru’s Sacred Valley, with breath taking views over overlooking the Moray Inca site and snow capped mountain peaks, MIL ranks as one of the world’s truly great culinary destinations.

While Virgilio Martinez’ Central restaurant in Lima sits near the top of the global restaurant rankings, it is MIL, Food Lab and Interpretation Centre, in the Andes Mountains that feels like the heart and soul of his culinary empire.

MIL gives visitors a deep dive into regional farming, cultivation and culinary arts in a relaxed, light and airy setting, sharing the exceptional quality of the cuisine at Central, but with a focus on the produce of the Andes Mountains. The staff provide the same exceptional service as Central, but in an engaging, friendly and relaxed manner that is far too rare in many fine dining restaurants.

Another standout of MIL is the exceptional beverage service and cocktails (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) the complex and innovative flavour profiles of the custom made infusions, juices and spirits open your senses to the world of Andean flora and act as a superb complement to the dining menu.

MIL offers a half day immersion experience, spent with local farmers and artisans which provides a depth of insight and knowledge that is a must for anyone who has made the pilgrimage to this extraordinary culinary destination.

I have been to in total 10 times Virgilio and Pia’s restaurants. Mil is undoubtedly my favorite. Central is amazing, but the concept of Mil stands out more. Combing food and research, Mil brings the past into the present with a beautiful tasting menu and wine pairing. My favorite is the tarwi dish, with its way of cooking duck Margret outstanding any other fine dinning restaurant. Make sure to try the Andean Mojito as well, the use of Muña made the drink a soft wind breeze on high Andean mountains.

And to the amazing people at Mil (Ana, Mafer, Maria, Manuel) you guys are the best! Thank you for always being so friendly and passionate about your work!

Phenomenal! From the Welcome, through the whole menu, to the Goodbye, everything was excellent: the attentiveness of every single staff member, the atmosphere, and of course the food. Amazing! So much better than Central in Lima.

A fantastic, quiet, and picturesque place.

The restaurant prides itself by working with local communities to provide all the food on the table.

The 8 course tasting menu cost 548 sols per person.

Service and food quality is wonderful. All the dishes were tasty, and it is wonderful to learn the history behind each dish, and the thoughts the chefs had in bringing out the culture of the locals.

Very with going! (You need to reserve in advance first)

Lovely high concept micro-sourced cuisine. Expect 4 hour meal, culinary delight. Friendly staff very much about presenting guests with an experience—food you will never have seen before or after this meal! Reservations required. Pricey eg $150-250 US per person with fixed price set menu and option for alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks pairings, which were also excellent.

Incredible experience! We had a lunch with immersive tour. The tour was guided by Andrea and Celine and we were accompanied by 3 local community members who explained us the different plant, herbs and vegetables grown around Mil. We had the best table with an incredible view. The attention to detail is unprecedented and it really feels you step into a family business.

WOW. MIL Centro was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. My sister and I are both foodies, but have never been big on tasting menus and elaborate gourmet food. However, when people heard we were going to Perú, everyone immediately told us to book a meal at Central in Lima. Naturally - they were booked. MIL, on the other hand, was not, and we had already planned a short stay in the Sacred Valley due to other recommendations. We are SO glad we found ourselves here. You cannot describe MIL as a meal, because it is so much more than that. It is an education about the food of Peru - the history, the sustainability, the community, the biodiversity. When you arrive, you are immediately given a tour of the place and the ruins, and then they show you their tasting lab. Unfortunately for us, my sister nearly fainted from altitude sickness - but they have an oxygen tank and made us the best coca tea we've had here. While she was being nursed back to health, I was given a lesson on the chocolate MIL makes which has zero dairy in it and was the best chocolate I've ever tasted. After our lovely tour and education our meal did begin, and it was course after course of unique, delicious, and exciting. We ended with the coffee experience, which was the best coffee I've ever had. But the best part of MIL is not the food or the ambiance; it's the people. Everyone who works there has such a passion for what they are doing and knows SO much. Each person is an encyclopedia on what they study. And they explain every course they serve you in a dedicated and passionate way - why they chose this course, why they cooked it the way they did, and how it is emblematic of the Peruvian cuisine and climate.

TL; DR - MIL is amazing. Go if you're anywhere near it (aka 2 hours driving) in the Sacred Valley. You won't regret it and it's so much more than a meal.

A truly once in a lifetime experience! We were one of the first lucky ones to try the new Immersive Tour offered by Mil. Before lunch we got to meet some locals from the communities who thought us how they harvest potatoes and we got to pick some medicinal herbs that are used for various purposes. Andrea, Celine and Manuel were wonderful tour guides and translators. The lunch of course was incredible, well done to chef Luis and team, and thanks for the wonderful service Jessica! And the setting... Absolutely breathtaking. Thanks so much team Mil and Mater Initiativa for making this an unforgettable day!

It was an amazing experience. We took the 8 steps menu and was great. They serve you many flavors fromthe andes regions, everything has a "Why" and lot's of details. I personally experienced new tastes and learned a lot about sustainability and how this business is run. I think it is a once in a lifetime experience and it really worth.

Ps. I enjoyed it more than Central!
