The kindness, big smiles, and welcoming attitudes of all the women at the sewing co-operative made this the most memorable experience so far in Peru. The alpacas are very cute as well. Their wares are of high quality. The only thing not so good is that it was a bit difficult to find as the signage isn't so good, but once you get there you're in for a wonderful experience.

We went unannounced with a rental car (the drive is not easy as it takes 15 minutes on a unsealed mountain road to get there, but we could make it with a standard sedan) and the women were so very welcoming.
They opened the tents just for us to have a look at their goods (sweaters, ponchos, blankets...).
Prices are not necessarily the cheapest (S/350 for 100% alpaca sweaters, S/200 for mixed sweaters with 30% alpaca, S/500 to S/600 for blankets...) But you can see the products are quality products, all handmade in the community.
Discounts are easier if you pay with cash.

You want genuine local Peruvian hand woven textiles, this is the place to come.
Sit in on a lecture and learn all about preparing the fleece for weaving those gorgeous blankets and wraps.
The dyes and cleansing agents are naturally sourced. You will be fascinated by how some of the coloured dyes are made.

You can use soles or USD to buy items.
Proceeds from the weaving co- op also help fund the building of local community facilities.

There are toilets
A car / bus park.
There are some steps to get to the venue, I think for those with disability you may need some assistance as I did not see an alternative way to get up to the venue.

Lovely hug provided by one of the local ladies. Lots of llamas and alpacas. Their weaving skills were excellent.

Excellant, ladysmith are delightful and so talented. Their product is amazing, from alpaca or Lama to the end product, they make their own natural dyes.

What an amazing experience to spend a night in this village. The landscape is stunning and the locals are so welcoming. If you want to see the traditional methods used to make alpaca clothing and pick up a few pieces this is a great place to visit.

Absolutely worth the time to stop! The ladies taught us about the different fibers and showed us how they take raw alpaca wool, wash it with a natural soap, then how they make the natural dyes then how they spin it into yarn.

War sehr eindrücklich und interessant. Die Frauen sind so freundlich. Definitiv empfehlenswert.
Grosse Auswahl für Souveniers (Taschen, Ponchos, etc), im Vergleich eher teuerer aber dafür hat man sehr gute Qualiät und unterstützt eine gute Sache.
