Simply unforgettable. I was happy the moment I realized we were going to sit and eat on the terrace floor and eat the traditional Newari way. Other customers were there since hours drinking Raksi and welcomed us with a warm Namaste. The aunties doing the service took their time and were a bit grumpy in the beginning, in the end of the diner four hours later they were all laughing with us. Don’t expect a fast service, go there only if you have time, food was authentic and delicious, go for the gizzards, the fried bone marrow and the Choila.

This has been my favorite Newari place for over a decade now. Everytime I visit, I try to get most the food in the menu and share. My topmost from this place is chicken momo, Chyang, piro aaloo! The Egg baara is also very good here. Most importantly the seating is authentic and comes with a view, there’s plenty of spots and you don’t have to worry about not having enough space. And cheap enough to not burn your pocket!

One of my all time favorite restaurants for Newari cousin in the town. Great location, best view from restaurant, traditional Newari architecture and great food prepared freshly and served by locals in this community restaurant. Newari foods ment to take time to enjoy.

This place hits home so many ways. Traditional vibe with local people preparing meal. A pet cat roaming around and enjoying his meal with the patron of the restaurant. Ambience and decor are mixture of modern and old Newa culture. I highly recommend this place if you visit kirtipur. Some of dish are hard to find and must try. Surrounding area of lahana feels like a museum and a lot to explore.

Authentic Newari food .. price are reasonable but service chai aatii slow tiyo ..

My first experience to this place was..out of the world. I loved literally everything that I ate there. Heard a lot about their milk tea but could not able to have one. Apart from that I had a new and great experience having syapu micha. The bara, khaja set, chayang and yomari of every newari food restaurants never let me down.

Don’t get fooled by the location or the very basic decor and seating. It’s the food you come to enjoy and it’s the food that is outstanding.

There are fancier and more Instagrammable places nearby but their food sucks.

Best place to get taste of newari food.. best momo, Bhutaan, khaja set, chatamari, baara was and so much more..

An absolute pleasure to be here...real variety of buff item with local rice wine. U can have 1st cut to 5th cut pure rice wine here....I leaned this is one of the oldest newari food heaven in nepal...a must try !!!

But don't like conventional alcohol here...try local rice beer 🍻 it is awesome.

Though it took us a while to find the place.It was amazing. The food, ambiance and the staffs. If you love spicy. Then its a paradise for you.

Gora ko laggi amazing, came 6000 miles from the UK to try food here and I wasn't disappointed.
Massive menu and very well priced compared to UK restaurants.
If your white then this place will set you right, Asian food is so good for us.
As a non alcohol drinker I can recommend the Chang, as I'd come so far I had to try it and it's amazing. So tasty, when I come back to Nepal I will try and come back here.
I can recommend a visit to the nearby Patan Durbar square as its not far away while your this end of Kathmandu :)

you won't regret after visiting here. you can enjoy the beautiful view from here. Service to the customers is good enough. You can enjoy the traditional foods. And the price as well as view form here, both are comparatively better than the sasa.

It's new place is still under construction, the old place is a museum hidden. A hidden gem restaurant. Great food. The red rice,brown rice, and white rice beer were worth a try!

Genuine newari cuisine with really hospitable staff. Buff momo is a must-have. To find the place was a bit of a hassle but totally worth it
