The airport's reputation for danger became evident as I witnessed the hair-raising landings and takeoffs. The short runway and unpredictable weather added to the adrenaline rush, making every flight a heart-pounding experience.

Conclusion:
Visiting the world's most dangerous airport was an incredible adventure. It reminded me of the incredible feats achieved by pilots and the importance of safety in such challenging environments. It's an experience I will never forget.

The stories of trek to EBC was not much scarier compared to the stories of the flights landing & taking off the Lukla Airport. Having the shortest runway, this is deemed as one of riskiest airports. But my experience was totally amazing. Both landing and take-off was absolutely smooth. Such experienced pilots, operate the small flight with ease. There was delay during both take-off at Katmandu and Lukla. But we were lucky that we could fly on the same date.

World most dangerous airport. I was super excited to land here safely. Beautiful airport. Three sides have mountain & one side open area for planes to land or take off. Merely 527 metered asphalted runway which goes uphill hence assists braking the plane.Only experienced pilots are allowed to land & take off from here.

Amazing and scary, the Lukla Airport formally named Tenzing Hillary Airport is one of the airports to land at. The sheer small length and surrounding mountains makes you feel small and special at the same time.

The gateway to Everest, the Tenzing Hillary Airport is regarded the most dangerous airport in the world. But I regard it as the most beautiful airport in the world. With an inclined runway, it is a thrilling ride to both take off and land from the Airport. The weather might be tricky as we had to wait for 4 days for the weather to clear up and fly back to Kathmandu.

This airport is an experience in and of itself. It starts when you land there, all of a sudden from between the mountains and clouds is a tiny little airstrip perched on the mountain. In addition to the breathtaking views, getting out can also be an experience, as in Nepal, when its cloudy the clouds have mountains hiding inside it. So I've met people who been "land-locked" for multiple days, because the skies weren't clear and the weather didn't permit landing or take-offs.

Very different airport where i have been but very adrenaline experience

This trip was really fun. I booked my trip with Himalayan adventures May 2018. Definitely had trouble with altitude acclimation but I wasn't the only one in my group, I started to feel the effects at 14k feet, Tenzing airport sits at 9.5. When we landed we didn't stay here for our first night. You can buy bottled water which I highly encourage over filtered water, its so much harder to drink filtered water when your body needs to push in lots of water for the oxygen. I think its $1 per liter.

One of the most beautiful place covered with beautiful mountains. The gateway place to go to Mount Everest (Sagarmatha) . Higest peak in the world (8848m) . Iconic airport runway is slope up to down and challening airport to land aircrafts. When someone comes in this place they forget all worries only happiness due to beautiful nature changing weather greenery everywhere beautiful mountains are welcoming you good hospitality by local peoples. Best place to hangout in holiday .

Tenzing-Hillary Airport (IATA: LUA, ICAO: VNLK), also known as Lukla Airport, is a small airport in the town of Lukla in Khumbu, Solukhumbu district, Sagarmatha zone, eastern Nepal. In January 2008, the airport was renamed in honor of Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, the first persons to reach the summit of Mount Everest and also to mark their efforts in the construction of this airport.

The surrounding terrain, thin air, highly changeable weather and the airport's short, sloping runway make it one of the most challenging landings in the world. It is widely considered one of the most extreme and dangerous airport in the World since accidents and incidents happened frequently.

The airport is popular since Lukla is the place where most people start their climb of Mount Everest. There are a dozen daily flights between Lukla and Kathmandu during daylight hours with good weather. Although the flying distance is short, rain commonly occurs in Lukla while the sun is shining brightly in Kathmandu. High winds, cloud cover and changing visibility often mean flights can be delayed or the airport closed completely.
