Don't take a taxi from the Nepal Border at Pasupati Nath within 15mint down steps you reach the market and Pashupati Nath Temple...and from the market area we can have branded products but I have doubtful about the originality

A SMALL TEMPLE OF LORD SHIVA 2KM INSIDE OF NEPAL FROM LEPCHAJAGAT SIMANA ON THE WAY DARJEELING TO MIRIK. BESIDE THE TEMPLE THERE IS A MARKET FOR TOURIST WHERE COSMETICS ARE CHEAP BUT THE QUALITY IS NOT VERIFIED.

It lies within the Nepal border, The actual history of the temple is not known to me, but the temple is beautiful. Not many persons come to visit this place only few tourist while returning from Darjeeling via Mirik stops and visit this place, The temple is well maintained.

Apart from Abhisheka time, devotees can worship from all the four entrances from 9:30 AM - 1:30 Pm

*The Cow's Tale-

According to legend,
Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati once transformed themselves into antelopes and visited the dense forest on the eastern bank of the Bagmati River. Enamoured with the beauty of the place, Lord Shiva decided to stay back as a deer. The other deities soon came to know of his mischief and pestered him to resume his divine form by gripping one of his horns, which broke in the process. This broken horn used to be worshipped as a Shivalinga but was buried and lost after a few years. Several centuries later, a cowherd found one of his cows showering milk on the site. His curiosity raised, he dug the site up only to find the divine Shivalinga.

*The Legend of the Lichchavi

According to Gopalraj Aalok Vamsavali, the oldest chronicle of Nepal, the Pashupatinath Temple was constructed by Supushpa Deva, one of the Lichchavi rulers who ruled way before King Manadeva.

*Another story that has been passed down over the generations is that the Pashupatinath Temple was already present in the form of a linga shaped Devalaya before Supushpa Deva's arrival. He constructed a five-storey temple for Lord Shiva on that spot. As seasons passed, the necessity for the renovation of the holy shrine arose, before it was finally reconstructed by King Shiva deva. Later, King Ananta Malla is supposed to have ordered the addition of a roof to it.
