It was a friendly and spacious rooms. But the room service cleaner was so rude and unfriendly, banging on the doors that guest should check-out.

This is a quiet and nice hotel, surrounded by a lake and greenery.
The room were clean, bathroom was big, updated and clean.
Best beds ever. Good sized room, with valcony and a table.
The staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast were simple but good. Swimmingpool quiet and desent dized. Warm water.

Car charger right outside the door, but you need to subscribe to the company who delivers it, or use a dutch credit card.
We will be back!

I really cannot say enough about the beautiful Hotel-Resort Spaarnwoude. From the moment of our arrival, we were treated like "friends!" Thank you, Lex, Amanda, Merel, Peggy, Iliana, Sharon, Jacqueline and Beata!!! You all made our stay so wonderful. We were pleased with the hotel, the food, the grounds, etc.

Although we are giving 5 stars, we have one minor "observation" ...No transportation is offered. We realize that this hotel caters to locals and guests travelling Europe in their cars, but Americans flying in would greatly appreciate a ride! All-in-all, everything is super at the Hotel-Resort Spaarnwoude

Beautiful location so close to the poet, nice walk around the pond and woods, easy for wheelchairs and disabled as well.

About IJmuiden
City in the Netherlands

IJmuiden is a port city in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is the main town in the municipality of Velsen which lies mainly to the south-east. Including its large sea locks, it straddles the mouth of the North Sea Canal to Amsterdam. To the south it abuts a large reserve of plant-covered dunes, the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park. The city is on the south bank; the north bank is otherwise a steel plant and Velsen-Noord. It is 10 kilometres north northwest of Haarlem which is 18 kilometres due west of Amsterdam. The port is a deepwater port suited to fully laden Panamax ships, and fourth port of the Netherlands. source
