very nice staff. family hosted hotel. good breakfast and comfortable beds, we slept so good! plus free coffee all the time

though there's a club underneath the hotel, we had very silent nights and even better mornings

bathroom clean and a nice shower

A small, unassuming family-run hotel in the centre of Ijmuiden, within easy reach of the superb beaches of Ijmuiden and Wijk-aan-Zee, the (20 min) hydrofoil to Amsterdam and the ferry to Newcastle (UK). Ellie and her sons provide eat-off-the-floor cleanliness, unbeatable value-for-money, and a warm, caring, yet discreet "family" atmosphere that even a five-star establishment would struggle to emulate. Highly recommended.

Ein preiswertes Hotel mit sauberen Zimmern, ideal um die Umgebung zu erkunden. Tag und Nacht kann man Kaffee oder Tee kostenlos trinken. Restaurants unmittelbar in der Nähe ;griechisches, argentinisches Restaurant und eine kleine Pizzeria lassen einem die Wahl. Unterhalb des Hotels noch eine Kneipe für Nachtschwärmer..

Unterkunft für diesen Preis völlig in Ordnung. Klimaanlage vorhanden, da im Hochsommer bereits um kurz nach 06.00h die Sonne ins Zimmer scheint und das Zimmer ordentlich aufheizt. Aber für uns okay. Pub auf der anderen Seite mit kleinem Biergarten keine Belästigung und Club um die Ecke da geht es etwas länger. Uns stört das aber nicht, ist aber auch unserer Meinung nach in der Ortsmitte völlig normal. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet für €7,50 absolut super, mit Omelette frisch zubereitet. Kaffee und Tee gibt es übrigens den ganzen Tag gratis. Das Personal war sehr nett und freundlich, wir konnten unsere E Bikes in der Garage abstellen und aufladen. Wir haben den Standort als Ausgangspunkt zur Rennstrecke nach Zandvoort gewählt. Eine sensationelle Radtour durch das Naturschutzgebiet und Dünen. Man trifft auf freilaufende Wildpferde und Galloway Rinder in einer beeindruckenden Dünenlandschaft. Echt toll.

About IJmuiden
City in the Netherlands

IJmuiden is a port city in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is the main town in the municipality of Velsen which lies mainly to the south-east. Including its large sea locks, it straddles the mouth of the North Sea Canal to Amsterdam. To the south it abuts a large reserve of plant-covered dunes, the Zuid-Kennemerland National Park. The city is on the south bank; the north bank is otherwise a steel plant and Velsen-Noord. It is 10 kilometres north northwest of Haarlem which is 18 kilometres due west of Amsterdam. The port is a deepwater port suited to fully laden Panamax ships, and fourth port of the Netherlands. source
