Sunday lunch with 97 year old mother: great hospitality, friendly staff, fast service, great food (we had wildstoofpotje and fish of the day), easy access toilets, place was packed (reservation recommended). 68 Euro for 2 rich main dishes, 3 soft drinks, a latte macchiato and a cappuccino. We’ll be back!

Great place for a lunch.

They had a fair amount of choices in the menu and the food was good.

Temperature inside was a little on the warm side, but it was a hot day.

We had a great lunch again here. The Tom kai soup and the tuna salad are lekker. I've been here for a couple of times. Always satisfied with the food being served.

Nice location. Service is fine, but not fantastic. Good beer selection. One can eat a good piece of beef any time of the day. Allin all, I would/will return.

Small scale boutique hotel in the middle of the woods. Great beds (Auping), girlfriend with back problems slept great. All rooms fitted with a luxurious shower cabine with steam bath.

Two options for dining in the hotel. Various spots to enjoy a bite and dinner. Staff friendly and helpful.

I stayed two nights here at De Zwarte Boer during the 'summer' months. The staff is extremely warm and welcoming. Our waiter at dinner was extremely helpful and knowledgable in picking the right wines to pair with our meals (which were fantastic). The hotel itself is surrounded by numerous trails through nature and is within a short drive from a larger town where you can pick up craft beers, groceries, cheap eats, etc, if need be.

We stayed one night in the 'apartment' and one night in the 'suite'. Both have their advantages. I would recommend the apartment if you want a large space and ability to cook, make tea/coffee and if you enjoy a nice steam room. I would recommend the suite to you if you're okay with less space in exchange for having a bathtub (with multiple jacuzzi functions) and double bed (not two single beds pushed together) as well as a button operated toilet with a bidet and female washing function.

All in all we had a great experience and we will certainly stay there again on our next trip to the Veluwe.

After a wonderful walk in the forest we came here for a well deserved lunch. Friendly service and really nice food!
