We have come to Haarlem on a Vacation and this Cafe has been our main spot for Breakfast and Lunch. The service is amazing and the food is delicious! We have tried multiple things on the menu and all have been amazing!

I and the other locals LOVE Gast. It's in my top 2 recommendations and the only thing preventing it from #1 is also part of its charm: it's a bit out of the way from downtown. For locals and commuters running through here it's a tucked away gem! The owners are friendly and helpful, the food and drink they serve are top notch and there's a real community vibe here which is so nice and so rare in a cafe.

A sweet spot. Great koffie, super tasty fresh sandwiches and baked goods. Very friendly service. Lots of natural light and tasteful interior make this place a great hangout to catch up with friends or to treat yourself to a quality break.

FINALLY. Normally I have to make the journey to Overveen or downtown Haarlem for my caffeine needs. With the closure of French Napa I was needing a coffee spot close to home. As an Australian and long time coffee nerd / barista I need a flat white spot within throwing distance. And behold Gast! Since finding the cafe on a dog walk I have been there everyday for coffee and have now started delving into the lunch menu. Pulled chicken and sambal toastie being my favourite as it is delicious. As a sandwich nation it’s strange how few good sandwich places there are. Gast is more than just a broodje stop though it’s something they do really well. Coffee from stooker made well, a nice little cake / pastry selection and a couple of pleasant chaps behind the bar. Neighbourhood coffee shops are the business and this one ticks all the boxes.

Great coffee with possibility to sit outside or inside. Nice and tasty desserts. Highly recommended.
