Absolutely breathtaking museum. Very large and informative there's something for everyone to do. We made the mistake of going on a weekend where it was packed which made it hard to get around but that ls on us. I'm very happy we we ventured out to go to this museum

Great fun for the whole family. We went with kids 12 and 7 and found the experience both educational and very entertaining.
The museum is spread out incredibly smartly by people who obviously know how to keep kids entertained.
Only thing to note negatively was the Cafe that was full of flies and absolutely not appetizing.

Great aeronautic museum in Lelystad. You're welcome in a great hall, with the indoor kids playground, the restaurant, the souvenier shop and the beginning of the tour. You begin with the early flight attempts and go through the history of Dutch aviation history. This is complemented with real size models of planes, from different eras. Moreover, you can go inside some of them and feel how it was done on that time. You finish the tour with the aerospatial era, with models of satellites and the space station. You finish the tour on the welcome hall and there are outside exhibitions of airplanes and the outdoor kids playground.

Perfect place for a day out and view old planes. Lots of play area for kids. Good collection from old and new planes. The staff is very friendly. The bus connection from the station is at every hour.

The collection of aircrafts contains as modern passenger and military jets and helicopters as many of planes from 1920s -1950s. There is a small section for space exploration too. You can actually climb inside of DC-3, An-2, and B747! There is actual gyroplane and Canstelation in the part of exposition in the main hall. Do not miss exposition in the hangars that are outside. There a few military jets including the very first Fokker jet. The replica of Schiphol back from 1930 is delightful. Special thanks to the guide from the radio room about amazing insights on early days of radio communication between airplanes. Many thanks to the guide who patiently tried to help me land the aircraft in F22 simulator.
There are a lot of fun facilities for kids too. There a Cafe to have a bite and coffee. The parking is big and just opposite the museum entrance.
Reserve 3-4 or more hours to take a look if you like airplanes 🛬

You can see the history of aviation starting with the Wright brothers and Louis Blériot's crossing of the channel to modern aviation. There are enough planes to get an understanding how aviation progressed throughout the years. Including 3 pre ww1 planes, several ww1 fighter planes but not many ww2 fighter planes. There are also 20's and 30's passenger planes and some helicopters and some fighter jets. I would highly recommend this if you like planes

The place is unbelievable, it has a lot of airplanes, all the eras, you can see and read a lot of history there. If you like the aeronautics you are gonna love this place. You can even go inside of a KLM plane with two floors. You can go FREE with the Museum Card. Definitely worth it.

This is amongst the best experiences for both young and older kids but even adults. Well designed and ever expanding museum with interesting exhibits such as the 747 which you can even visit inside etc.. I have visited this twice and I have had great time. The inside part covers adequately history of aviation. Parking facilities and catering as well.

If you are an aviation enthusiast, this is a GREAT museum. I loved my visit. The staff here are extremely friendly, helpful, and engaging. Always greeting people with a smile and asking if you have any questions or where are you from. Really great.

They do a tremendous job taking people through the aviation history of the Netherlands era by era. A journey through time. The collection of old artifacts from early KLM days are special.

The collection of aircraft is simply staggering and I love the fact you can go onboard some of the great ones. KLM 747, Super Constellation, DC-3, Fokker, MiG, DC-6 and many, many more.

The old airport terminal that was reconstructed is very interesting. I love all the artifacts they have inside including an amazing collection of old radio’s. The gentlemen was very kind to give me the history of this equipment and how it was used.

The museum has a nice cafe and a small museum shop.

I took the train from Amsterdam to Lelystad followed by a bus that drops you off across the street from the museum (it is about a 10 min walk from the bus stop). It took about an hour.

I spent about 4.5 hours at the museum and could have easily spent longer (I was taking a lot of photos as well).

Very nice museum where you can see the history of airplanes.

Some interactive displays where you can play and they have a flight simulator where you can practice landing a plane (or crashing it in my case).

There is an indoor playground (more for 3 year or older), and an outside playground and a lot of open space.

I definitely will come back once my kid is 3year or older.

Also you can get on and test many planes. There are many simulation machines.

Very nice place, exceeded my expectations. Especially the indoor exhibition is very extended Interesting for all ages! I went there with my kids of 4 and 8, even before we left the premisses they asked me to go there again😀.

A great place to spend some time with your kids. We visit after 13 and couldn’t finish everything. You need to give at least 4-5 hours to see everything in a relaxed way.

Nice place to keep a 5 year old occupied for 4-5 hrs. The exhibits are both indoors as well as outdoor making it an all weather place to visit. The museum itself is fascinating for someone interested in planes. There are also play areas for kids.

Great museum for kids. You get to see the history of aircraft evolution but more than that lot of play stuff for kids. You can have a relaxed day outing with kids. Parking ticket can be bought onsite from machine. It's 7.5,eur. Free entry for museum card holders. Cafe is decent. Their souvenir shop is cute with nice collection.

I would definitely say this museum is extremely worth it to pay whole entrance fee. Even though I have my museum card, I cannot help paying the fee because of the absence of physical card at that moment. Thought it was quite much when I paid, but it wasn't true. When I went into the museum, experience all the flights from history and play ground, all of instruments are gorgeous, kids friendly, good for families. Now I can even pay double! It was amazing!

It's our 3rd time and my children (5 and 8 years old) are still enjoying the place. There are couples of playgrounds both in and outside. Nice history about airplanes. Simulator is small but lovely. Excellent for family and you can spend 3-4 hours here easily. Parking costs 6 euro.
