Magnificent island with beautiful nature. We did the 7km coast walk and it was nice. It was good for the time that we had. Unfortunately, there were relatively little benches where we could sit and all of them were taken. Bring drinking water, they don't have it there yet, so you would need to buy for a high price.
The cafe is cute and nice.
Also bring an umbrella or poncho because it could rain. But that was still very nice.

We definitely recommend visiting Marker Wadden!

Amazing place. You can climb bird viewing towers and look under water. Nice small marina with a beautiful beach. Staying overnight in your boat is a hippie-like almost spiritual experience.
To get here, bring your own boat or get on a ferry from Lelystad.

Absolutely love this beautiful nature archipelago. I arrived around 9pm on Friday evening and it looked like I really got the very last place moored of to another boat. They only allow two next to each other so on a beautiful weekend I’d recommend to arrive earlier or if the wind is not too crazy anchor out in front for spectacular sunset fees and tranquility. The beaches here are really deserted and you have them nearly all to yourself once the last ferry for day visitors leaves. Priceless while it’s crowded every where else when it’s beautiful weather in NL

The best way to use the Dutch dike builders approach, creatng new nature from the seabed of the former South Sea. Well, here you find wind, sand, water and lots of birds. Worth visiting for nature an d bird lovers. A round-trip hiking is 7-8 km, small shop and restaurant on the harbour island. With your own boat you can anchor here and spend the night. Which is supposedly beautiful and very quiet. One could rent a cabin, but these are booked a year ahead and rather expensive. For a half-day trip nice. Take the boat from Lelystad harbour in the morning or at one. You can stay max 4 hours on site.

An incredibly important and beautiful nature preserve. Worth spending a day away from the city!

Amazing nature reserve, great for a walking day trip to escape the default dutch landscape. If you have the possibility take your own (sail)boat there and spend the night in the cozy and relaxed harbour.

Lots of birds and butterflies to spot, nice quiet beach, georgeous swamp walks. Go visit!

Most likely the most beautiful bird sanctuary in the Netherlands. We went over with an historic vessel (Fogol) Very well organized and interesting bird spotting support from the guides.

Secret space that is reachable over the water only. Paradise for birds. Walking routes. A restaurant and beach. Pay 10 euro if you moor your boat there for a day. Only 15 spots available.

Arival with the beautiful sailboat Abel Tasman. This is a great upcoming wildlife park. Good walkable pathways and birds viewing spots. After a nice walk there is good coffee and dessert.

Amazing nature reservation area! If you like birdwatching this is your place, many many species of birds to observe. We had bad weather and lots of rain. But still totally worth it to spend the day. Sorry I just took with my camera!

Very interesting place. Man made natural reserve in the middle of the Markermeer. Lots of birds, with good shelters to watch them. The beaches look very nice but it was very windy and cold when we were there. The marina has very decent toilets but they work only with special coins that can be purchased only within certain times.

Sailed there with a group as part of my competent Crew training. It is an amazing place to disconnect from everyday life and rest. Very natural and the facilities are clean.

Beautiful place, looks like wild nature. Promises to be cozy and comfortable for visitors - there are some cafeterias and guesthouses in construction. Has small harbor if you would like to visit it on your yacht/boat

Unbelievable place to spot birds and enjoy nature. Hard to grasp that this was constructed just six years ago
