Harbor West-Terschelling

The most happy moment when you arrive there ... I have been more than 50 times on Terschelling for holiday since 1982 when I came here for the first time.

I love this island. We come here at least once a year.

Beautiful harbour that is buzzing with people from the ferry, fishing boats and coastguard boats. It has some beautiful scenery with the dunes, the coast and rough nature

I was here on a visit from Harlingen (all ships come from Harlingen). It was love at first sight. Please include this Island 🏝 on your bucket list.

Go to the statue of the women who's waiting for her man coming back from the sea. If he comes...?
And watch the sun sinking in the sea.

People in Terschelling are very friendly and will assist you in almost everything.

Great little town on Terschellling island. Make sure to visit the Zwaantje pub, see the Brandaris lighthouse and take a stroll down the harbour wall to see all the wonderful old Dutch boats.

Lovely place

We were early so preferred another boat, changing the tickets was no problem at all.
Large lockers are available to store your luggage while you wait.

This is the place where the ferry docks after a 2h journey on 'De Friesland' or 'Midsland' (or 45m for the fast catamaran 'Tiger' or 'Koegelwieck'). Any sea trip you want to make starts here, whether it's ribrafting or seal seeing trips.There's a parking lot (2018 still free) and there are several bike rental companies around. From here it's about 17km to the most eastern village on the island. Two steps away, in the center of 'West-Terschelling' stands the typical lighthouse 'Brandaris' (not accessible) that's still active and actually is a landmark recognized by many.

I really recommend taking your bike with you. The boats are really fast
