Rhoonse Grienden

Before going here I didn't even know this area. De Rhoonse Grienden is a beautiful nature reserve and perfect for long and short hikes or runs. There is plenty of parking (next to the Tasman restaurant) and several signed routes are available. Along the trails you'll find some really nice spots for a break or picnic.

A long time ago they harvested willow twigs and branches. Tough work as there were no roads and twice a day the tide would flood part of this area (just like today, but now you are on elevated walkways). Today they still do this with volunteers to maintain the willow forest. Don't forget to take a look into one of the many hollow willow trees to spot nature and animals hidden within those trees.

Depending on the time of year you can end your hike with a beautiful sunset. Simply beautiful!

Closest true nature area near Rotterdam. Really nice for walking and cycling. Many birds and sometimes deer easy to spot. One of my favorite cycling routes is from the Rhoon Marina to Thermen Barendrecht to Marina Barendrecht, along the Oude Maas.

Great nature preserve with lovely views on the Maas. Nicely laid out paths and signs. You can walk a maximum of about 10km in the area on the paths I think. Great location to take your dog out. 2 Restaurants in walking distance.

Fantastic nature reserve of tidal waters where willow rushes were harvested for shoring up dikes etc. Very beautiful

Unique and beautiful nature reserve. Great place for walking and getting away from the city. 20 minutes from rotterdam by car.

Underrated. Was echt super leuk om te wandelen and I wish more people discover this place. (And also the beautiful neighborhood)

Mooi rustpunt in een drukke omgeving. Kan een beetje eentonig lijken met alleen maar rechte wilgenpaden, maar de wilgen zelf maken ‘t het waard. Er staan veel schitterende oude wilgenbomen tussen, helemaal hol en boordevol mossen en planten. Heel bijzonder om te zien.

De Rhoonse Grienden is een prachtige plek om even tot rust te komen. Het is zeker mooi om hier te komen als je echt komt voor de natuur, wat hier in overvloed is. Ook lijkt het meer natuurgecentreerd dan gefocust op bezoek van mensen, en dit is voor mij persoonlijk des te beter. Hou je van natuur, mooie foto's en wil je graag gewoon een rustige, fantastische tijd hebben? Dan is dit zeker een aanrader.

Heerlijk stil en fijn om lekker rond te wandelen. Reeën, bevers, rijgers en vogels kun je tegen komen. Jaarlijks snoeien van wilgentakken. Prettige wandel- en fietspaden. Het is een stilte gebied.

Oude textiel fabriek! Ik ben altijd al erg geïnteresseerd geweest in het bewerken van textiel en hier kan je precies zijn hoe ze het vroeger deden. In mijn tijd hadden we namelijk nog geen melkzuur bacteriën, dus hier zie je het nog goed. Ook de verf afbrander kan je hier nog zien in z’n oude glorie (Vroeger kwamen er nog lekkere dampen uit waarna je meteen zin had in een chipito). Het enige jammere is de schimmel die zich in de fabriek bevindt. Ik heb namelijk gehoord dat je skibidi rizz krijgt als je er aan zit en dat wil niemand natuurlijk! Waarom heb je dat nodig als edging goated is natuurlijk? Dat is enige fijne aan het melkzuur bacterie. Het jelqen gaat veel soepeler, want op mijn oude dag gaat dat soms niet zo makkelijk (ik ben al 63). Het enige slechte van de fabriek was dat er op de website stond dat Kai Cenat langs zou komen, maar dat is helaas niet gebeurd, daarom 5 sterren.

Goede wandelpaden door een actieve griend cultuur.
