Around 19 windmills in total ,4 you can go in and the others privately owned and lived in I was told. A pleasant coffee/snack cafe at the entrance. Then do the 'film' to get the history and background. A few hours needed to do it justice, good pathways/cycle access spread over about 3 kilometers. A few other buildings to check out.

My wife and I visited on 17 Nov 2019. It is such a beautiful walk just getting to this location. The trails are wide enough for walkers or bikers. So quiet and peaceful. *Note, it was 8 Celsius / 46 Fahrenheit...not exactly peak tourist season* Our guide said it is packed here in the summertime. The windmill itself was also very interesting. Small, yet a family of, I think, 13 lived here for a long time. Hard to imagine living in such a cozy place with 12 others!

Amazing collection of windmills. One inn operation and set up for us to walk thru. Well worth the visit. The size of the arms and the engineering is amazing

Very interesting place to visit as part of our Viking Rhine getaway River cruise. Lots of history. Nice little gift shop with reasonably priced products. There is also a cafe but we didn't visit.

It's a unique experience to see how the families were living inside windmills. People living there was always on duty and have quite bad living conditions... You can see everything in the museum! It's a definitely place worth to visit! And don't forget to donate 1.9€ for Museum! It's not much but people working there are doing a great job!

Fabulous display of everyone’s favorite artist. Very accessible multilevel arrangement, stairs, escalators, and elevators. Beautiful gift shop with something for everyone. Don’t miss this stop if you can help it.

Windmill set up as it was originally. Great to have a look around. Recommended using the kinderdijk app which has an audio tour you can listen to whilst walking around.

Wonderful place to visit and stroll among the many windmills. Many opportunities for memorable pictures. Excellent chance to learn the engineering behind it all. Be sure to meet one of the mill keepers and ask for an overview of how the water "pumping" was accomplished. Visit the Museummolen Blokweer to see how the mill keepers lived.

This is the main windmill that visitors enter to see when they visit Kinderdijk. Please don't forget to purchase the tickets at the front office. It's so fascinating to see how the miller and the entire family lived.

Visiting this windmill was a beautiful experience. I saw how Dutch-millers back in the 1900s lived in these windmills. Even though they must have had a hard life, it was amazing to see. For those of you that want to see this windmill too. Go on a day when there is enough wind because then, you get to see the windmill work live in action!

This place was so cool I've always seen the wind mills in photos and on plates but never did I think I would actually see one in real life. This was so cool.

Absolutely stunning! If you visit Holland you need to come see the Kinderdijk, it's an amazing piece of history and an amazing view of 19 beautiful works of art, the windmills. The people working there are friendly, and helpful. If you are concerned about speaking a different language other than dutch - don't be - everything is in both English and Dutch, and there are other options available to get all the information you can. Stunning - add it to your bucket list - it's a must see!

It was a sight to behold. The windmills were beautiful to look at and the history was so rich. Plus this place is under the UNESCO world heritage list! A must visit for any tourist.

Very interesting. You learn how life was inside one of them. You can go inside, up stairs (more than 1 floor). Can take pictures too. It's like a tiny museum.

19 windmills all mostly occupied. One is a museum you can walk thru. Many ladder to climb but worth the climb. Shows life in a windmill in the 1700s

Skip the free shuttle, rent a bike for a few euros (there's a bike shop near the shuttle parking). Spend the best 15 minutes of your life riding here. Take the long way back through the city.
Question your entire life and wonder why you don't live here.

Super cool to see all the wind Mills up close and be able to go inside a couple of them... Even the video was interesting. Recommendation, try to go on a dry day and bring a camera.

This was a beautiful living museum to visit. It makes you aware of the hard lives that families lived. Good videos explained the introduction of the windmills and the role they played in life.
