Lot & de Walvis

We had brunch on Sunday and it was super delicious! The food was very good, there were also some vegetarian options, and I highly recommend it for everyone who wants to enjoy some quiet chill time with friends. The location is beautiful as well. The service was a bit too slow but probably because the place is always very crowded. They were all very nice anyway. Amazing experience!

We celebrated the birthday of a good friend there, so we had reserved a table for six a couple of days ago. But we didn't know we would get the BEST table of the place! A corner table, with lots of room for our friends and an amazing view tobthw canal. The drinks were great, as well as the finger food and the service. We left at midnight but the staff was putting no pressure on us, they even told us to stay as long as we want, up to 1am.

Absolutely delightful experience at Lot and de walvis! I recently dined at Lot for dinner and i was impressed from the warm ambiance to the impeccable service, every aspect exceeded expectations. The food was a delicious fusion of flavors, beautifully presented. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring a memorable dining experience. I must give a special shoutout to one of the African woman whose culinary skills truly impressed me. The attention to detail, passion and creativity in the desserts made the dining experience unforgettable. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a culinary adventure!

Nice lively place in the centre of Leiden, it’s very crowded so make sure you make a reservation. The staff is friendly and the interior is very atmospheric with nice decorations and comfortable seating.

I had the Chai latte and the Chicken ‘n Waffles, which exceeded my expectations. A nice combination of flavors in a decent portion.

We came here to have a drink and try some desserts. It was a lovely sunny weather and we were offered 2 seats on the terrace just right to edge of the river. We ordered Vegan Bounty Pie and Cinnamon Swirl plus Iced Chai Latte. The desserts tasted really nice and iced chai latte was refreshing which was exactly what I expected. Besides, the interior inside is nice and feels cozy.

Good place for a nice lunch. Nice sitting places, inside as well as outside. You can sit on next to the canal on a boat as well. The food is very tasty. The best thing is their Ice Coffee. The coffee taste so good. Highly recommended. The staff is very friendly.

I really like this place. Doesn't matter what time you come here. We had breakfast, we came for lunch, we've been there just for drinks and every time everything was great! The only thing that I didn't like much was cappuccino. The rest was gooooood.

Food - It was absolutely delicious!! Everything was perfect! We started off with pink gin (looks gorgeous, tastes amazing) and nacho's. Main dish was fish burger and beef burger with rosé. And finally cappuccino. Absolute perfection.

Service - Very friendly, genuinely helpful, super quick service.

Atmosphere - Honestly, its the best spot in Leiden. The location has the best view and its very calm. Cute decorations, very comfy, cozy. A true instagram spot.

Overal - Absolutely recommend this place! Will be coming back asap!!

Visited Lot & de Walvis for my friends birthday. The customer service was super friendly and my diet (lactose-free) was well considered. I ordered oven baked sea bass. Tasty food and drinks! I recommend :)

Would definitely recommend, we went there for the Sunday brunch and everything absolutely delicious. An amazing range of choices from savory to sweet and way worth the price which also include a delicious fresh juice and warm drinks. The waitress was also very welcoming and cared for us with a big smile all throughout.

The charcuterie board is excellent here. The location and ambiance are both phenomenal too. Beautiful view in the summer and cozy in the winter.

Just a suggestion please:

Ensure the bread in the charcuterie is super warm every time. We have been disappointed as sometimes it is perfect and sometimes it is not warm. The warmth really makes a difference and guests appreciate consistency.

Nice chill spot to get some really tasty food and drinks. We came in without a reservation and they figured it out and got us sorted. I wouldn't expect that to be the norm as this place is usually fairly busy.

Great atmosphere. They have a variety of poached eggs. I asked for for the smashed avocado and was fantastic.
They have space inside and outside.

Gorgeous place, right on the city harbor. Attentive service and excellent food. The salad with crispy gambas was amazing!
