Van der Valk Hotel Leiden

I could hear people talking in the corridors and some noices by the window. Not sure if it was the wind but I wasn't going to go check. Other than that it was good.

Lovely outdoor area looking over the canal. Beds are a bit too soft. Most rooms haveva balcony which is a nice touch. Great breakfast and some decent choices on the evening menu.
Room service facilities could be better, it was sometimes difficult to find an iron as they leave one at the end of each corridor but if someone takes it into their room and doesnt out it back when finished then youre at a loss.

The hotel is great. Nice spacious rooms, friendly and helpful staff, and the location is quiet and with close public transport.
The breakfast & lunch buffets are definitly worthwhile (&worth the calories).

Loved the hotel, the bus from The Hague stops just nearby, lovely cozy brasserie (I enjoyed the evening reading the “Encyclopedia of cats”), breakfast is healthy, and with a lovely view.
The room had a bath with bubbles that we enjoyed. The bed consists of two single mattresses which for some reason slide to the sides and there was a hole in between.
There was a Bible in the room… found it when was looking for hotel rules brochure.
Next to the hotel is a park. The walk to the center is about 40-50 minutes. Bus goes twice per hour.

Toilet pot was dirty, no iron to press your clothes. I was there only fir one night to attend the party 🥳. Food was tasty and good service.

We were gifted a valentines dinner at this hotel by the city of Leiden. We ended up having a great four course meal including fresh fish, delicious duck and a dessert with various small treats! To top it off they recommended a good wine!

One of the best Hotels to stay. Gives you a feeling of a king in a castle. And very welcoming staff and big cafeteria.

Incredible hotel. Rooms are super comfortable, the breakfast is extremely complete and we can seat by the canal, with a great view. Also there is a small but well equipment fitness room.

This hotel does everything perfectly, every time. Beautiful location beside the water and close to university, with a shuttle service. Option to have a kitchenette-style room. Restaurant is very good (and popular!).

We had dinner for 37 people with steak and tuna. Both were perfectly cooked, which is one of the biggest compliments I could give a kitchen in the NL.
