OYO 1139 W Hotel Cemerlang

A good place to transit. Lots of parking space.
Friendly staff. Grocery store below the hotel and kopitiam opposite the hotel for breakfast.
Surrounded by restaurants. Got laundries nearby.
The room however is a bit small... Tapi OKlah.

Overall, recommended place to stay while in Kota Bharu.

Btw, one thing to consider, the hotel got no elevator.

Quiet location near to many eateries & cafes

The Good:
Hotel & room is overall quiet.
Bed is the soft type & comfortable for me.
Room wifi signal is good.
TV had good reception.
Good water pressure for shower & wash basin.
Ample parking nearby but may need to park further when hotel is full.
Good location, less than 5 mins drive to Pasar Siti Khadijah area.
Many eateries & cafes within walking distance and a short drive of 5-10mins from hotel.
Water dispenser & ironing facility provided at common corridor area on each floor.
No sewage smell from the bathroom.

The Not-So-Good:
Room was small & narrow, but good thing that it came with window.
Corridor & room had damp & musty smell likely from wet carpet or curtains. Need to clean more thoroughly to rid the overpowering musty smell.
Bathroom has no shower curtain to separate shower from toilet, causing the whole bathroom area to be wet after shower.
Bathroom has lots of stains/mold especially at the base of the bathroom and the sink area. Cleanliness can be further improved.
Some guests speaking/laughing too loudly along corridor.
Had smoke smell in the room maybe from previous guest who smoked in room or due to inconsiderate guests smoking in their room & their smoke transferred via the vent or bathroom exhaust system. Suggest that smoke detector be installed in each room to deter smoking.
Aircon in the room cooled much slower than normal & unstable (sometimes had cool air, sometimes not-cool air); maybe aircon needed to be serviced or have coolant gas filled.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Would recommend it.

For the given price (RM 105), I believe this hotel is very reasonable. I stay there only for the night; checked in around 8.00 pm, check out around 7.00 am.

Some drawbacks:
1. The room is a bit small, the space between the wall and bed and space between beds are about 1 foot. But I think it's reasonable with the given price.

2. No lift/elevator.

Basic things for a hotel are provided; air conditioning, hot water, towels. Cleanliness is excellent.

Staff is very friendly and considerate; they initially wanted to give me room at 2nd floor (G, 1st, 2nd), but when they saw my mother, who's an old lady, they changed to 1st floor.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with my stay there.

The hotel is simply clean, new and very comfortable. I’m very thankful for the comfy stay, fluffy bed & hospitable staffs. Perfect for a short stay. Parking is limited, there’s no lift & there’s no electric kettle if you wanna make a cuppa coffee in the morning. If u wanna have a good breakfast, the spacious restaurant opposite this hotel is a good choice as it provides various local breakfast menu. I would consider staying in this hotel again if I’m in KB again.

Omg, I've been visiting kota bharu since 2018 and this hotel was the best I've stayed at. I recommend this place. If you are visiting the city to get your Thai visa.

Greatest sleep I've had after traveling for months!!

For this price, i got nothing to complaint.
Very clean room (and toilet too),good pillow & mattress. Aircond is great, tv reception is great, powerful hot shower. Good and clean lobby, excellent receptionist. Nothing more to expect for hotel with this price. They also have ample parking spot.
Their Standard Double is quite small but still enough space to pray. Nak berjemaah berdua pon muat.
But their Suite Triple is spcious.

Cant say something bad about this hotel. Clean, not expensive, good location if you came in Kota Bharu to get thai visa, also near is good cafe The brick line. Check in should be at 2pm, but after night travel i asked to make it earlier and they did it, thank to them for this. Next my visa run i ll stay in this hotel again.

Pro:
Room price is affordable.
Building and interior looks new.
Kopitiam located in front of the hotel and the food is so delicious and cheap.
Friendly staff and polite.

Con:
Limited car parking space.

for under MYR 60 you will get just a basic room with basic amenities, location was center and nearby to most of the places

Good & responsive staff. Clean & strategic place. Reasonable price. No lift.

Nice & cute hotel, clean .. stayed there 3 days 2 nights.. 1 single & 1 double bed, suitable for 3 adults & it’s near to Kopitiam Kita…

Its a nice stay there. Spacious room for us to eat and pray. Will definitely stay there when we are around Kota Bharu later. ❤

The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly, just the network coverage of Maxis at here is need to improve from telco.
